Property Operations and PMS: this is the forum for posting your ideas and comments on all aspects of hotel operations, from reservations to events to metrics and reports. You'll find a category here for each of the major topics in property management, and if you can't find the right category, please search or post to the Other category. Where we can, we'll move ideas around to group them as intuitively as possible for the product managers working on the PMS.

  2. Please include a pop up note on the dashboard or send it as a message in MEWS for new same day arrivals/bookings created on the day for the day - to assist in preparation for arrivals. The channel manager emails are not sufficient and reliable enough to reach the right group of people.

  4. think you need to work on that feature a bit so reception aware when a HOUSE USE room checks in, make sure there is a check in and check out solution – otherwise, how do we know if the members of staff is in the room or not???

    And also room changes should be allowed instead of having to delete a space block and create a new one.

    A House room use is a reservation like any other, the only difference is that it does not count into the inventory and revenue.

  5. Making a refund in Mews is easy and quick, however, when leaving notes as reason for refund, internal information that mean to be shared only with staff, it shows on the bills or invoice, leaving a very unprofessional image. Guests should not see what we write as notes.

  6. At the moment, online checked-in reservations are only visible on the day of arrival. In statistics you can find the amount of online check-ins in the past and future however, it is not possible to click through and see the specific guest/reservation the online check-in belongs to. Past of future reservations only show a grey 'manage' button.

  8. Booking number should be in all reports - Accounting ledger report and paymentreport, It is much easyer to remember at number instead of the spelling of a name.
    and it would be very usefull if you need to merge 2 reports

  9. Reservations basic report (guest name, notes, arrival date) is cut off when viewed and printed to PDF (for example to report daily to all departments avoiding every manager having to pull the same report in the morning). Long exported version is too detailed, so what is needed is the VIEWED version ensuring it fits on PDF to be able to share via email.

  10. When we ask for a deposit; Often, guest accounting department ask us for a down payment bill (deposit bill). Usually 30% of the total reservation.

    It would be great to be able to edit a down payment bill (deposit bill) automatically calculated (a specific percentage) from the reservation total balance.

  11. When a guest ask for a quotation with different kind of product (night, breakfast, lunch, dinner, pic nic……) it would be great to have the complete breakdown with each product clearly identified.
    Currently, Mews does not offer the possibility to identify products and offer the total amount without any detail.

  12. If we already use the calendar events section in the property, it would really be most useful, to also show the number of an event in the calendar upon creating a new reservation. This would help to quickly explain our guests why there might be a higher rate or high demand for this period.

  13. I need to manage my rates based on their net value to us, eh close out "cheap rates" when we reach a certain occupancy (promotions, special contracted rates etc). I need the ability to close out by rate category which at the moment is only possible if the rate has a different cancellation policy. I need this daily so would be an urgent feature for me and many revenue managers who manage a lot of rates and cant rally close out by rate code.

  15. We currently can only filter for used vouchers and are not able to filter for used voucher codes.
    This forces us to create multiple vouchers in case we want to analyse certain cooperations.
    If would be much more useful, if we could also filter the reservations report by "voucher codes" --> this would enable us to use e.g. one PROMO Code marketing voucher and give if various voucher codes.

  16. When you put the mouse on a reservation it shows information which is not needed and doesn't show information which is useful.
    We know the arrival and departure and name and room number and type of room. I would like to see the number of guests, source of reservation (travel agent, Booking.com, Expedia.com...).
    Or maybe to have a choice on what information we can see.

  17. Order spaces within the Space category in the timeline.
    At the moment, we can't order bedrooms as we wish in the timeline.
    Depending on the location of the bedroom in the building, it makes more sense to have it in a certain order.
    The default order does not facilitate operations.

  18. My suggestion is to allow for extra capacity in space categories to be for children only. All my spaces are standard occupancy of two people with some spaces having extra capacity set at two. As a property want to be able to specify 2 adults + 2 children and not potentially attract booking for 4 adults.

  19. Problem:
    The order of the rates in the reservation screen cannot be customized/ changed.

    The ordering in the rate settings refers to the order within the Rate Group and the way these are displayed on Distributor, but they don't refer to the way these are displayed on the reservation screen.

    Solution:
    The ordering in the rate settings should not only refer to the order within the Rate Group and the way these are displayed on Distributor, but they should refer to the way these are displayed on the reservation screen as well.
