  1. Splitting a reservation to allow a room change should NOT create a new reservation. It is not operationally efficient and makes no logical sense. Creating a new reservation leads to several issues:

    If the invoice is already closed, it generates a credit note.

    If the invoice is still open, it splits it into two invoices.

    When analyzing data for important decision-making, it distorts the results because you end up with a new reservation that is not real. It alters metrics such as booking lead time, pickup, and more.

    I strongly believe this is an issue that MEWS should address

  2. When nested spaces and standalone spaces share the same physical inventory and is part of the same space category, their availability is linked. The system
    should recognize that their availability is not linked when it comes to optimization of space assignment as reservation on the nested space does not automatically means it can be moved to the standalone space.

  3. Allow for multiple versions of the same parent space/room linked with different combinations of child rooms.

    For example, create Villa 1 with (101 as the parent) and 102, 103 and 104 as the children, but we also want to create Villa 1 connector (with 101 as the parent and only 102 as the connecting suite).

  4. Currently, Mews does not allow users to transfer space categories to different bookable services; instead, users have to be manually recreated in the new service. It would be beneficial and useful if we could create a transfer process (Rates, Products included)

  5. When a baby bed needs to be in the room, you will see it on the app behind the check-in time.

    Unfortunately, this is difficult to see.

When you click on the beginning date for blocked space - the calendar should automatically go to that date - instead you have to click on the calendar again to find the month/date example: the calendar automatically defaults to today's date - you have to tab thru the calendar for the date you want - then it should automatically show future dates for the end date, but it reverts back to today's date for the too. Would be nice if blocking house space worked the same way as booking a reservation - you would click on the date & space…

  7. We have only 6 units and our cleaning schedule is based on a minimum of two to clean (outsourced) - so we do not have cleaning on a daily basis. To avoid booking rooms that are not yet cleaned (or blocked for holidays when we are closed) we used the house blocked space. Unfortunately, that blocked space will cause the cleaning status to default to dirty automatically - even if you change the status back to clean - it will bump it back to dirty until after the last blocked space date - check out time.   8. Currently, it is not possible to move a guest from a higher category to a lower category in the planning view. This restriction is particularly problematic when working with groups for whom the room type is irrelevant. Each time, you have to go to the reservation in question to make the change. This is a waste of time for us.

    This restriction would be implemented to avoid making mistakes. But why not simply display a warning message, but still leave this option open?

  11. Right now the maximum people any space category can accomodate in Mews is 100 p. when you do the space category set up. Our restaurant can accomodate almost 300p.

    It would be great if the maximum could me increased for the bigger venues such as restaurant and meeting room

  12. I don't like the fact that when I delete a Space, it gets completely deleted. Reservations show "Unassigned" for "Assigned Space", and it can be no longer retrieved via the API.

    This basically breaks the referential integrity of the data, which is a rather serious issue. Such deletions should only be done as a soft delete - ie. the Space should be marked as deleted, and deletion date captured. It must no longer be assignable, but it should stay there so past reservations can still reference it.

  13. Nous sommes une pourvoirie et nos locations sont pour des chalets, des terrains de camping, des tentes prêt-à-camper et des embarcations nautiques. Le problème est qu'il n'y a pas de "catégorie d'espace" pour les embarcations nautiques, il y en a une seulement pour les vélo. Même chose pour nos chalets ou il n'y a pas ce choix.

  15. Currently, there is a hidden character limit for the Directions field in the configuration page of a space. When exceeding the limit, there is no warning & after saving the field resets to empty. Displaying the character limit will help stay within the boundaries and save time re-entering the directions to the Space.

  16. I’d like the Out of Service function to work more like the Out of Order function, with the ability to set a start and stop date/time. The room should remain bookable, but it would be really helpful if the reason and timeframe were displayed more visibly on the timeline screen.

    This would be a game changer for our maintenance team’s ability to communicate with the front desk. Sometimes they’re working in a room that we still want to keep sellable, and having a clear, visible note on the timeline would make it much easier to seamlessly share that information between…

  17. We are struggling with late check in after the front desk staff has gone home.

    for example, a person books 21:00 arrives 23:00 but the front desk went home 20:00.

    The guest got assigned to a dirty room and the kiosk lets the person check in.
    Would like MEWS to assign the guest to inspected rooms first. And stop the guest to check in to a dirty room.

  19. Sería muy útil poder generar un informe de "Estado de los Espacios" que ofrezca las siguientes opciones:

    1. Poder imprimirlo en horizontal (el .pdf se genera automáticamente en vertical y eso comprime la información y dificulta su lectura para el servicio de limpieza)
    2. Poder ocultar nombres de la reserva/huéspedes (por privacidad/protección de datos)
    3. Que aparezca algún gráfico que permita leer más fácil si hay una salida/entrada, bloqueo, libre, sucia, LCO, etc.
    4. Que se pueda ver la fecha de entrada/salida, duración de la estancia y cuántos días le quedan.

It would be great if Mews had an option to separate buildings - I have several properties I have worked with that have multiple buildings (i.e. a barn, a house, an extension or two tower blocks all selling under one brand), and in some cases multiple financiers who need statistics on each building or multiple buildings with different aspects of accommodation splits etc, but setting this up for accounting is really difficult. MEWS already has a building number field in the settings for spaces; it would be great if we could just filter accounting reports based on the Building Number…
