Property Operations and PMS: this is the forum for posting your ideas and comments on all aspects of hotel operations, from reservations to events to metrics and reports. You'll find a category here for each of the major topics in property management, and if you can't find the right category, please search or post to the Other category. Where we can, we'll move ideas around to group them as intuitively as possible for the product managers working on the PMS.

  1. An option to send a credit card authority form (charge-back form) that is linked directly to booking.
    This could be similar to a payment request, but would not charge the card the receiver inputs until date of booking? How do other Hotels send people charge-back forms currently? sending them independently from Mews feels disjointed, as we need to email them to guest, have them fill out and return to us, then we input payment details into Mews manually.

  2. Show check in and check out dates in the principal screen of Accounting ledger. So you can see if the reservation that needs to be resolved is past, in house or future, without going inside any booking.
    Or sort out the list by check out date instead of by surname.

  3. Currently you can adjust a price for an entire space category for an unlimitied period of time. Could be great to have the possibility to have different prices adjustements according to certain period of time.
    Example: the Superior room is +20% from the classic from 1st january to 28th february and + 50% from 01st march to 31 may.

  5. Would it be possible to display the number of nights stayed both on the reservations details and the invoice. when invoicing nightly charges as a package, you see the dates but not the number of nights invoiced

  8. We would like to have in just one report all vacant rooms including clean, dirty, inspected, out of service or out of order, and also rooms that have been allocated to guests due to check in but are technically vacant without the need of printing every single report separately.

  10. When amending a rate which has packages attached, currently I need to work out (with a calculator) what the rate is without the packages and enter the RO rate for MEWS to add them back on when creating a reservation. Example: Rate is £500 inc bottle of champagne at £50,breakfast at £15 pp, airport transfer at £30... when changing the rate to let us say £400 I need to deduct £400 - 50 - 15pp - 30 and enter the RO rate of £2990 (double occ). I would suggest to enter the package rate and MEWS to deduct the allocations…

  14. Reports contain a lot of information, which can sometimes be difficult to read through. In order to simplify and improve your report viewing experience, we could enable an excel-like sorting feature so that you can use headers on each column to organize the report data in ascending or descending orders.

  17. We need a way to notate guest allergies in their profiles and pull reports. At minimum, we need a way to be able to pull a PRINTABLE report that includes reservation notes, where we are currently noting allergies for our kitchen and housekeeping staff. This is vital to operations for our property and for our kitchen specifically. Our chef currently has no way to efficiently and effectively pull guest food allergies directly from Mews when he is writing the breakfast menu. We are forced to use a separate system which, naturally, causes food allergies to occasionally fall through the cracks…

  18. It would be great if we could receive a no-show report, either as an xml attachment in an email, or a pdf report through email.

    Currently the only way to check no-shows is on the day itself and there's no way to really gather statistics from this unless you keep track yourself.

  19. In the list of rates, we see
    Name, Base rate, Type (private or public), Short name, External name, Enabled, Default.
    It would be nice to have at least one extra column, to visualise the adjustment (absolute or relative) from the base rate. When there's a lot of rates to setup and check it can be time consuming to do those 3 clicks (rate, pricing, adjustment).

  20. Access to reservations, but read only. This is useful for smaller properties where for example the security guard needs to check passports/ID to make sure the correct person is in front of them.

    But then don't give them the access to make any changes to them.
