Property Operations and PMS: this is the forum for posting your ideas and comments on all aspects of hotel operations, from reservations to events to metrics and reports.   1. When receiving a message in commander app option should be available to display message as a translation ... eg message sent in english might display an option to show as a translation to a preselected language in the settings. Click on a "translate from english to X language" button and that will display as X language using google translate.

  2. Now, the automatic reminder and cancellation e-mails are send to the guest and not the booker. Even if the guest has no e-mail, the booker (or anybody else) does not receive an automatic reminder and cancellation. As we have a agreement with the booker and not with the guest, it should be the booker who must receive the automatic reminder and cancellations. Now, bookings are being canceled automatically (when not reconfirmed before the deadline), without notifying the booker, who did originally receive the confirmation. This is a major flaw of MEWS. The booker should receive automatic reminders and cancellations!

  3. To verify with guest if this is the right card to be charged, show the last digits of the CC on the side of the CC Type Icon near "Charge and Close". This would avoid mistakes and this is also a LQA Standard (Leading Quality Assurance), which is one of the highest and most used hospitality standards.

  4. We would like to have in just one report all vacant rooms including clean, dirty, inspected, out of service or out of order, and also rooms that have been allocated to guests due to check in but are technically vacant without the need of printing every single report separately.

  9. The ‘completed’ and ‘future’ tasks have the same colour scheme in the app. This is complete nonsense in terms of meaning.
    There should urgently be a third colour for the 3 statuses.

  11. Access to reservations, but read only. This is useful for smaller properties where for example the security guard needs to check passports/ID to make sure the correct person is in front of them.

    But then don't give them the access to make any changes to them.

  12. We're new to MEWS and whilst the functionality is brilliant (thank you), our front of house team really struggle with the visual appearance of the timeline. Spending lots of screen time on a screen with poor visual appearance and contrasts is not healthy and inefficient as it is difficult to see the timeline at a glance - please could you look at improving visual contrasts both colours and lines between dates/spaces for improved accessibility.

  13. Hi all,

    the action log sould be more easier to understand.

    The commands / logs that are recorded are not clear enough.
    If a guest checks out at the Mews Kiosk then in the action log it is:

    State changed from Started to processed ....

    That doesnt make any sense and staff do not know what action was beeing done. Better is to state: checked in or checked out...

  14. Currently, after a guest associated with a group block checks in and wants to be moved to a different room type, we have to adjust or add the room type to the block. This is a few added steps for the FD and reservations. I suggest that when the availability block is released then the guest reservations are available to actual inventory opposed to that within the block.

  15. Is it possible to add a Space Type Connecting Rooms which does not impact our hotel capacity?
    Example : we have connecting rooms based on 2 standard rooms, currently the connecting room add a space to our inventory which false our reports and global data.

    It would be great that the connecting rooms have a specific space type (composed of other spaces).

  16. when you try to set the date in the (new) task, the calendar heights changes continuously between months. this is really annoying as you need to watch where you click if it is for say 5 months later.
    either change the calendar position or introduce being able to link task to an arrival / departure event

  17. It would be great if you had the option to not only update a task when opening it, but also to close it from that same window. Now you need to update it, close the task and then only are you able to complete it from the list (task list or within the reservation).
    would save time if you had that close button within the task (so both update and complete/close)

  18. Currently you can adjust a price for an entire space category for an unlimitied period of time. Could be great to have the possibility to have different prices adjustements according to certain period of time.
    Example: the Superior room is +20% from the classic from 1st january to 28th february and + 50% from 01st march to 31 may.

  19. On the Reservation dashboard all invoices are listed. For invoices it would be great if the amount issues can be shown on the bill section. At the moment we need to write them in the notes.
    Additionally it would be great if we can have a button to extract all postings for this reservations. When invoices have been corrected, its very hard to see what happens on every single day of consumption. At the moment we need to export the accounting report for every single day and bring them all together to get a full understanding what postings have been…
