Property Operations and PMS: this is the forum for posting your ideas and comments on all aspects of hotel operations, from reservations to events to metrics and reports. You'll find a category here for each of the major topics in property management, and if you can't find the right category, please search or post to the Other category. Where we can, we'll move ideas around to group them as intuitively as possible for the product managers working on the PMS.

  1. Reports contain a lot of information, which can sometimes be difficult to read through. In order to simplify and improve your report viewing experience, we could enable an excel-like sorting feature so that you can use headers on each column to organize the report data in ascending or descending orders.

  2. Product Checklist could have a wider set of functions such as ability to post directly to Profiles without a current reservation. And ability to post to Spacetime Reservations (not only Guest)

  3. We need to refine the filtering of the accounting ledger to display only entries that have already occurred, and excluding those that are scheduled for the future. To prevent entries labeled 'to be resolved' from appearing until after all items on a reservation have been completed. For instance, a reservation in our system is todasy 29.feb marked 'to be resolved,' but the guest will not check out until March 6th. We cannot send the invoice before after the guest has left the hotel..

  6. To expand on the new Group Blocks feature, I would love a simple Group Block Agreement form/report that summarizes the number of rooms blocked, the dates associated with the rooms and the nightly (pre-tax) rooms rate.

    It would have a customizable "terms" section where we can note cancelation policies, block release date etc and have a signature page for the client to sign.

    Right now we have to generate this outside of Mews, which creates additional work. Happy to send you a sample of what we are looking for!

    Which types of groups would you typically add "terms' for? For example corporates or leisure. 

  7. In my opinion it would better to view all information in one screen and avoid going to second screen. Thus we do not have to click multiple times to check availability status for each day rather we can have the full overview in one scree. Please add each space category and it's availability also in the first window / overview.

  8. I would like to be able to download the action log to excel. It will make it easier for me to control the work of the revenue manager who changes the prices. It would be good to be able to download this report automatically via exports ->schedules.

  9. An option to send a credit card authority form (charge-back form) that is linked directly to booking.
    This could be similar to a payment request, but would not charge the card the receiver inputs until date of booking? How do other Hotels send people charge-back forms currently? sending them independently from Mews feels disjointed, as we need to email them to guest, have them fill out and return to us, then we input payment details into Mews manually.

  11. It makes sense to be able to see not only imminent (Pending) or past-date (Missed) tasks but also upcoming (Future) tasks on the main page ("Tasks" doughnut) - without having to go into the report every single time.

    The current state of affairs makes it often necessary to remind staffers of upcoming tasks outside of that section (or outside of MEWS e.g. emails, sticky-notes et al.), which does not make for a stellar user experience.

  12. Automated decrease of implemented overbooking levels,
    when resolving red lines in timeline.

    We overbook a lot, however when doing our room planning via the timeline, resolving the over bookings, the rooms as back for sales, so we would need to go into the availability screen and lower it manually. Would be great if this process can be automated, reducing the risk of to many overbookings.

  13. Would it be possible to display the number of nights stayed both on the reservations details and the invoice. when invoicing nightly charges as a package, you see the dates but not the number of nights invoiced

  16. We would like to have in just one report all vacant rooms including clean, dirty, inspected, out of service or out of order, and also rooms that have been allocated to guests due to check in but are technically vacant without the need of printing every single report separately.

  17. Would be helpful to have a feature for the group summary, that shows how many adults + childen are in the group. Now it shows only total amount of people.

  18. When filtering for "group by group" in the reservation report, it gives the total rate, revenue and comission. A total of the people would be great to have a quicker overview of all the reservations with more than one room/bed.

  20. Currently company profiles are added to guest profiles automatically. This should be optional via a tick box. In our case guest' are not always booking via the same company (rate).
