Property Operations and PMS: this is the forum for posting your ideas and comments on all aspects of hotel operations, from reservations to events to metrics and reports. You'll find a category here for each of the major topics in property management, and if you can't find the right category, please search or post to the Other category. Where we can, we'll move ideas around to group them as intuitively as possible for the product managers working on the PMS.

  1. Add possibility to create restriction on number of guests .
    We have golf package for 2 persons. when only 1 golfer, price should be adjusted depending on season and type of room.

    I cannot use the empty bed option as adjustment is changing depending on seasons and room categories.

  2. I think most hotels are outsourced their room cleaning,
    So we must get a sum up from the PMS / or from the app the number of room cleaned and inspected during a period

  3. When you put the mouse on a reservation it shows information which is not needed and doesn't show information which is useful.
    We know the arrival and departure and name and room number and type of room. I would like to see the number of guests, source of reservation (travel agent, Booking.com, Expedia.com...).
    Or maybe to have a choice on what information we can see.

  4. I would like to be able to create a report which shows the number of nights stayed per company. Preferably all companies in one report. We use this to decide whether a company is still entitled to the agreed corporate rate or whether it needs to be adjusted because more or fewer nights have been booked than the year before.

  5. Create a section by departments (Housekeeping, maintenance, Customer service ...) in which, you can upload photos by apartments or rooms to know incidents and the whole team can see it.

  7. Reports contain a lot of information, which can sometimes be difficult to read through. In order to simplify and improve your report viewing experience, we could enable an excel-like sorting feature so that you can use headers on each column to organize the report data in ascending or descending orders.

  8. We would like to be able to change the optimize space allocation function in Timeline so that you can assign it as a Permission under roles.
    So not everyone has rights to use this feature.

  9. Add an extra column to the timeline to add certain importnat and rate / occupancy related events such as conventions, sport, concert, in-house. Column should be right under the dates.

  10. When a guest e-mail address bounces, it would be helpful if and when a task is created in order to have a notification (and thus an actionable moment) for staff to verify and check the e-mail proactively, and not have the guest wait for an e-mail because of a typo...

  11. Creating a button where you can easily mark if a group can be invoiced on 1 bill - or if the rooms in the group will pay all separately. Right now all items of all bills have to be moved individually to 1 main bill. Having a button to make these changes with 1 click would save a lot of time!

  12. Why do you have a housekeeping app where you still need to pull a manual report for all the details? Can we have the fields in the housekeeping report added to the app so you can see how the rooms need to be set up for the next guest in terms of guest notes and the number of occupancies from a family of 4 to 2 people in the room, then help assist if the sofa bed would need to be put away.

  13. If there are multiple public rates within the same rate group, MEWS will only display the cheapest option in the booking engine.

    This causes issues for us for example when publishing our Christmas packages. They would both fall under the same rate group (PKG - Package incl. breakfast in this example), but since one package includes dinner and the other one a *****, only the cheaper ***** package will be shown to our guests.

    Now we worked our way around it by creating an additional rate group for the dinner package, however this is causing us to create…

  14. When we create a new rate in the Channel Manager, it would be best practice if we could only send that rate to the channel manager and not all the rates that we have in the channel manager as how is today. Of cause, we need to have a "full property push" available, but the option to push just the newly created rate would be the best in a day-to-day basis. Then the data that we send out is going to be much less.

  15. If we are placing a room OOO it would be great for the system to automatically move the future reservations overlapping without having to manually move each reservation manually.

  18. Availability blocks currently only allow the option to enter 1 specific rate for a block. Since we operate with different rates based on roomtypes, and a group often combines roomtypes, it would be great being able to select multiple rates.
    Also offering a group to book online with a discount based on public rates, it would be good to be able to offer them both a discounted flexible rate and a discounted non-refundable rate.

  19. Have a commission module to have the ability to track third party bookings commission (and very handy when it comes to verify accuracy of third party invoice and/or make amend where required)

  20. Use case: Guest uses a specific voucher, when booking via the (Distributor) MEWS booking engine, which would trigger a task for reception staff (e.g. to prepare a welcome drink for the guest prior to the guest's arrival).

    Currently these tasks need to be created manually. This enhancement has the potential to save properties time, effecting an improved guest experience.
