Property Operations and PMS: this is the forum for posting your ideas and comments on all aspects of hotel operations, from reservations to events to metrics and reports. You'll find a category here for each of the major topics in property management, and if you can't find the right category, please search or post to the Other category. Where we can, we'll move ideas around to group them as intuitively as possible for the product managers working on the PMS.

  1. it doesn't seem possible to move individual reservations from one group to another.
    for example if you have a recurring (annual) group and have by mistake added a booking to the previous year, you are not able to move just one reservation to the current year.
    merging groups is not an option, in this case.

  2. In the final bill, we would like to have the possibility to split the accommodation cost between the Student (paying partially the room cost) and the Public Admin (paying the rest of the accommodation, considering that they PA is not paying VAT so I need to close it with VAT exempt)

  4. Being able to have an audit trail or log of restrictions that have been amended or deleted. Currently if a restriction has been deleted its gone. you cant see who deleted. With regard to amending restrictions yes you have been who and when but you don't know what has been amended/added

  6. we just hat the situation that a guest complained because we forgot a task.

    This happened because the colleague who created the task forgot to set a Department.

    As the Department just check the Task reports with the filter of their Department no one had this task on their report.

    Is it possible to set the Department as a mandatory field?

  8. Would it be possible to include items or stay products to the routing rules? We book breakfast as a separate product, however this is included to the overnight charges paid over OTA.

  9. it is very annoying that when you search and choose a group, one of the bookings is ticked. if it is a large group, you are not always able to see which one and need to scroll down to unclick it before you are able to make any chances to other bookings. waste of time and also huge potential to make mistakes

  13. When adding house use in the timeline the assigned (short) names are not visible but only room numbers. It is impossible to differentiatie between the space categories when the room numbers are identical.

  14. Add some more options on the cancellations report to be able to forecast the expected number of cancellations for a period of time, an event, or similar. Ideas...

    1) report based on consumption date instead of cancellation date : the intention is to analyze how far in advanced from arrival date are we getting cancellations so we can forecast the number of rooms we can overbook.
    2) filter by day of week to find trends based on which days of the week do we receive more cancellations, or which days of the week are most impacted by cancellations (day of…

  15. If you go in to the space status report and view different dates the responsible person is based on the current day responsible person (i.e. Housekeeping lady 1 is responsible for room 101 on 27/10//20, according to the report the same persons was responsible for room 101 on 25/10/20 even though housekeeping lady 1 was not working that day or had repsonsibility for a different room)

    Would be great if Mews could store data for the responisble person each day, so you can easily track who was responsible for which room on which date and maybe let housekeeping manager assign…

  16. Visible internal notes/tasks inside guests folio billing. So much wasted space. All that space can be used for notes or tasks. Me, personally, i live in billing and i am always there, if you ask me, its the most used window. So i would really love this idea come true. So that all internal notes or tasks about this reservation can be viewed inside billing. Just an idea which i would personally find very useful. Or at least something where we can leave the notes for our colleagues.

  17. We use the Mews messages for some internal announcements.

    It would be great it there is an option to delete (internal) messages threads and to remove members from the thread.

  18. As for hostel, it would be great to have each bed counted as 1 space, so that total space amount reflects the exact amount of beds.
    We have an option to book the whole room, but also single beds in dormitory.
    Currently, every room and every bed counts as 1 space.
    It is confusing as for now 8-beds dormitory is counted as 9 spaces (8 beds as 8 spaces + the whole room as a separate space)!

    Furthermore, changing the dorm status (dirty->clean->inspected) does not affect the status of beds, we have change the status of every single bed one…

  19. why we can not have like rate and availability directly on the dashboard with a click by default on the dashboard displaying the rate and availability.

  20. in the reservationo verzicht you see, after the adjustment of the way of showing the tourist tax, now every day a new post of the tourist tax. This is not a problem with a short stay. but if a guest stays for 3 months it becomes a very long list and not really clear anymore.
