Property Operations and PMS: this is the forum for posting your ideas and comments on all aspects of hotel operations, from reservations to events to metrics and reports. Where we can, we'll move ideas around to group them as intuitively as possible for the product managers working on the PMS.

  1. Configuration setting which allows us to Swop number of adults in reservation screen van low to high.
    By default its set to highest number of users, while our business services predominantly 1 persons in dorm types.
    We notice many wrong bookings are made, since its set by default on 1.

    Could we please get a choice on whether we display 1 adult before 2 adults.

  2. When you have a chain of hotels you always see the data of the entire chain first, which makes it unnessarary slow. Maybe default the hotel choosen? Or make it an option per employee/ Eg. the ceo of the chain will want to see them all, but the general manager of hotel x, will by default want to see his own hotel.

  3. I would like to be able to prioritise which spaces need to be cleaned first when assigning spaces to my employees.

    Please may you add the filters for example dirty departed and departing in space assignment form.

  5. Als Hotel wir bräuchten ein option die Gutschein zu erstellen und lösen in Mews wie in Inkentoo System Kassen. Sehr wichtig für die Buchaltung

    As a hotel we would need an option to create the voucher and solve it in Mews as in Inkentoo system cash registers. Very important for accounting

  6. Rooms with checkout on same day must be near to each other, this would be good for an effektive Housekeeping. Can be optimized by booking.

  7. As promised here is the video with the 2 issues that our reception team will be delighted with if they are improved :)

    The first one: when creating invoices, see timecode 1:17, Pam needs to highlight and copy the booking reference number from that booking on the dashboard tab for that booking, she then needs to go to the billing tab and manually paste the number so then the invoice can be generated for the customer. Now imagine having to do this for every single booking every day. On friday she will need to do this over 120 times, this…

  8. I wish to be able to have a locked view setting / ghost view when assigning in the morning. This to to let employees see too soon what floors/section they are on.

    Reasons: It could cause unneccisarry stress, we might need to change and they like to plan before work. As employees can use the app in their private phones, they are able to start processing when they shouldn't. And its a help for them to not work, before work. Even thouh we start assigning 1-2h before actual start for all employees.

  9. We require the ability to customise the colours of buttons, such as "Chat with Us" or "Manage Reservation," within the email templates.

    Currently there is no option other than the default Cobalt Blue.

    This flexibility will enable us to align their design seamlessly with the visual identity of the property's website and overall brand communication.

    It would be extremely useful to have the ability to view rate notes in the reservation overview by hovering over the rate name—similar to the functionality that’s already available when creating a reservation.   16. Option to Issue Pro Forma Invoices or Invoices with a Percentage Deposit Requirement for Booking Confirmation

    As we establish our group accommodation billing process, we've identified the need to issue pro forma invoices or invoices that specify a deposit amount—such as 33%—to confirm a booking. This functionality is particularly essential for group bookings, where securing reservations often requires a partial payment upfront.

    Currently, Mews does not provide the option to generate an invoice based on a percentage of the booking total. Instead, the system only allows invoicing for the entire amount, which can complicate transactions and discourage early booking confirmations.…

  17. Email notifications can be a lot to go through especially if you are receiving a lot of daily communications to just one main address.
    It would be helpful to have visual reservation alerts (colorful) come up on the timeline or on the reservation screen in case of failed settlements (for any reason) - especially after check-in.

Small Bug report: when opening the mail queue items from the dashboard of a guest profile that does not have an email address associated all mail queue items are retrieved (accross all profiles). I guess due to the fact that the SQL Query filters for the email address. Hence when empty all mail queue items are retrieved.
    The system should check if an email address is on file, if not decline to open the mail queue item list giving an error that an email address must be provided.

  19. Routing rule with the following options:

    • The company is responsible and the booker is automatically linked. For groups it would be helpful that all the chosen costs will automatically routed to the same bill. It's not nice that a separate invoice is created for each guest of a group.

    We use this for our invoices with reimbursement of costs. Because the companies want to have a Person who is in charge for the cost and to release the invoice for payment.
