Property Operations and PMS: this is the forum for posting your ideas and comments on all aspects of hotel operations, from reservations to events to metrics and reports.   1. If there are multiple public rates within the same rate group, MEWS will only display the cheapest option in the booking engine.

    This causes issues for us for example when publishing our Christmas packages. They would both fall under the same rate group (PKG - Package incl. breakfast in this example), but since one package includes dinner and the other one a *****, only the cheaper ***** package will be shown to our guests.

    Now we worked our way around it by creating an additional rate group for the dinner package, however this is causing us to create…

  2. Currently a user with only "Perform Housekeeping" rights can see a lot of financial reports!
    I don't imagine the cleaning staff at Mews Headquarters are allowed to see the daily revenue, so why should they (or 3rd party cleaning contractors) have access to our hotel financial data?

    • Posting Journal: Can be seen and has financial information about the daily/weekly/monthly/yearly revenue!

    • Payment Report: can be seen, has financial information. It can even see the cash going into the Cashier!

    • Accounting Ledger: can be seen and has financial information.

    • Bills and Invoices: Every invoice (anonymous) and its consumptions can be seen together…

  3. Some of our rates are stand-alone during the week and dependent during the weekend. At the moment we have to ajust the weekend rates manually each time the base rate changes as mews doesn't support rate manipuliations on a daily bases per room type. We would definitely need the option to adjust dependent rates the same way as you adjust the base rate.

  4. Filter by Segment for Reservations Overview Report:

    This will allow us to easily exclude "long stays" from arrivals, departures, stayovers...

    It will make housekeeping job easier, and will help to get a more accurate weekly forecast

  5. The reserved space for a hotel logo is very narrow. A wide and narrow hotel logo is therefore very small and unattractive. To avoid the need to adapt the hotel logo (corporate identity), I wish that the design of the header on the guest invoices is much more flexible and that it is possible to display a wide logo in a suitable way.

  6. Please include a pop up note on the dashboard or send it as a message in MEWS for new same day arrivals/bookings created on the day for the day - to assist in preparation for arrivals. The channel manager emails are not sufficient and reliable enough to reach the right group of people.

  7. When managing different hotels, it is hard to see on which hotel you are logged in. Everything is Black/White. The only thing to differentiate is the small logo on the right corner. (As our logos are also B/W, you have to look carefully). If we could set the whole background in a specific colour, we could differentiate more easily and avoid mistakes... The aim is above all to identify more clearly on which hotel you are logged in. The colour is just an idea.

  10. Change all room status to a status in a single action. Restrict this with a user right, as only Admins should be able to perform this action.This will help our Implementations team when setting up of the property & in case of reconstructions. It takes quite a while to change 200 rooms to 'Out of order' and place a note in it.

  11. Right now in Rate Management screen, properties are able to see Occupancy in percentage. By implementing this idea, the number of available spaces will be displayed on the same screen.

  12. If there are certain rules such as a minimum stay of 5 nights. For a room, for example, two nights are free. It would be good if certain positions (management) could still make bookings and override these rule

  13. Sometimes rooms are added to a group that do not appear to belong together, or an error occurs and a room is added to a group.

    It would be practical if you could remove rooms from a group. Currently, this is not possible.

  17. When charging an extra guest, MEWS should allow percentage based on the daily rate.
    Right now, MEWS only allows to add a flat rate and this limit our capacity of getting more incomes.
