Property Operations and PMS: this is the forum for posting your ideas and comments on all aspects of hotel operations, from reservations to events to metrics and reports. You'll find a category here for each of the major topics in property management, and if you can't find the right category, please search or post to the Other category. Where we can, we'll move ideas around to group them as intuitively as possible for the product managers working on the PMS.

  1. end of day should not be mandatory 12pm. Some guests arrive after 12pm - will be automatically noshow on that day. Further, it is not logic to book f&b products on another day, when the main day of the event is the prior one. This distorts heavily statistics

  2. To switch reservations with hotels with 100+ rooms, the possibility to pin the red "overbookings" bar at the top of the screen when you are scrolling.
    That way you can switch rooms easily whilst keeping your position on the timeline.

    Basically the same as the "freeze panes" function in Excel.

  3. When we do housekeeping list, we have 2 main different bookings, which can only be categorized by segment, that would allow us to make the list faster and avoid the confusion between different segment bookings

  4. Ability to set a fixed date for invoices due.

    Ex. Invoices due on 20th of the following month.

    All invoices raised in June 2019, will be due on 20th July 2019.

    Current setting only allows for a number of days post-closing.

  5. When filtering for "group by group" in the reservation report, it gives the total rate, revenue and comission. A total of the people would be great to have a quicker overview of all the reservations with more than one room/bed.

  6. Some categories we have are on the same level of ordering (or there is no exact ordering) which is tricky to manage in Mews as there always has to be an orden. E.g. in case of a room move to a different category (on the same level) it would actually not be an "upgrade" or "downgrade". Which makes it hard with the setup of a diffusive strategy

  7. Possibility to add attachments to emails before sending to guest/company. For example POS ticket which shows what a guest or group has consumed in the restaurant

  8. If one got more then 3 converstaions ongoign in help center with you Mews guys it is really difficult to find the topic one would further communicate in. Something like a title or such would be very helpful.

  9. We are desperately in need of a report that can show us our daily production by market segment. We should be able to extract a report to excel and manipulate the data to have a clear idea of what we are picking up for what dates and via what segment. This is a crucial part of any hotel who is looking to increase their revenues and mews is one of the few PMS systems i have ever worked with that does not have this basic report. All of the data is logged there and so why is there nothing we…

  10. Posting items from Billing allow to be consumed before the guest check in, which dosen't have any sense...

    Should be blocked, or at least have a pop up warking about it...

  11. We have two 4-persons private rooms. During the week, we have more request for 2-pers rooms. Is the following possible:

    Making a room 1a and 1b. Room 1a is e.g. the 4-pers room, 1b is the 2-pers room. If room 1a is booked, that room 1b will automatically be closed and the other way around. So the price for room 1a is based on 4-persons and the price of room 1b is based on 2-persons. The possibility to close one of the rooms yourself in advance should still apply of course to manage your rates & availability as efficient as…

  12. The content of the package the guest has booked should be visible on the invoice. For example '' Bed and Breakfast'' or ''Half board''.

  20. If you want to know, what or how many reservation were coming in today, you have to go through reports and filter by creation date etc., which is very complicated for just having a live update, especially in high demand days like fairs.
    It would be more convenient if you could put an extra button on the dashboard under reservations like "update reservation". So that it is also possible to check this from outside or if you just want to have a quick check for the day.
