Property Operations and PMS: this is the forum for posting your ideas and comments on all aspects of hotel operations, from reservations to events to metrics and reports. You'll find a category here for each of the major topics in property management, and if you can't find the right category, please search or post to the Other category. Where we can, we'll move ideas around to group them as intuitively as possible for the product managers working on the PMS.

Please keep in mind that there is a separate forum for topics specific to the operations of hotel chains and groups. Go to the Multi-property management forum for anything about portfolio management or rate, product, package and restriction functionality across multiple properties.

  1. Each space category is specified with a maximum capacity setting to prevent too many guests and ensure that every companion is accommodated comfortably. In addition to maximum capacity, a setting to define a minimum capacity could also be beneficial for some properties that would like to reserve specific space categories for groups of a certain size.

  8. The Mews Manager report is a great overview including data and figures about your daily operations. An expansion of this report could include even more valuable details, such as additional budget summaries, date-to-date comparisons, and the next month forecast to help plan your upcoming rate management.

  10. Limiting availability sent to your channel manager could allow more control over booking sources as well as overall occupancy and availability figures.

In addition to the list of intervals available for export schedules, many properties would prefer to specify their own custom intervals in case they cannot find an existing one that suits their needs. With the option to specify your own interval, users could customize their export scheduling exactly as they need it.

  13. Our Rate Managment Screen (RMS) could be quite complicated and contains a lot of important data. General managers and revenue managers must interpret these details as they decide on rate pricing for their properties. For this reason, sticky headers could help clarify which data you are looking at, keeping the title of each column and row stationary as you scroll through all pricing details and make any necessary adjustments.

  18. It's quite common for guests to book accommodation together, meaning that when they're ready to pay, they would like to split charges evenly or with some other percentage. Currently this is not possible in Mews, but an additional feature could allow billing charges to be split according to guest preferences before payment.

  19. We can add products to all reservations simultaneously, but it is not possible to cancel them with one command. With the ability to cancel items from all bookings at the same time, managing stay products will become much more simplified.
