Property Operations and PMS: this is the forum for posting your ideas and comments on all aspects of hotel operations, from reservations to events to metrics and reports. Where we can, we'll move ideas around to group them as intuitively as possible for the product managers working on the PMS.

  1. When we want to post for example minibar to a guest bill on checkout - this is 6+ clicks - it would be awesome to have a drop down menu on the bill page which you select the service to be posted and it automatically creates a bill. This saves in many cases very precious time on checkout both for the staff but more importantly the guests.

    I am aware its less clicks from the checkout doughnut - but here you have to ctrl + f to find the room etc so time wise you do not save any time…

  2. It would be really useful for us to have the ability, in a group reservation, to configure the consumption of products for each day in different ways.
    Example for a 3 night stay:
    - With the first night: consumption of one dinner only
    - With the second night: consumption of breakfast, lunch and supper
    - With the 3rd night: consumption of breakfast, dinner and supper. Plus the consumption of lunch on the morning of departure.
    So, for example, our kitchen team could know the number of products to prepare for each day simply by consulting the Product Report.

  3. We have collaborators who have left the company, and we haven't been able to revoke their permissions. As a policy, we don't delete user accounts but rather remove their permissions. However, we've encountered cases where we can't do this because they have scheduled automatic reports, and as administrators, we can't view or remove them.

  4. I'd like to make a suggestion regarding our hotels. As they are owned by multiple owners, each one is assigned different rooms. Profit sharing is based on the revenue generated by these rooms. Therefore, we need each room to have a separate accounting account

  5. When we change prices and click enter, the next squared selected is the one in the right (same category for the next day). Nevertheless, normally when we change rates, we do so for an entire day. It will be much practical is the next square selected after clicking "Enter" is the one below what we have just changed. This way, we can swap from the first until the last category of a whole day and do it quicker than now.

  6. Make the "send marketing postal mail" option available alongside "send marketing emails" in the mews import file.

    Many hotels – including ours – are treating e-mail opt-in differently from postal opt-in and would like to import their customer information accordingly.

  7. When we want to delete a rate, it is not possible if there are restrictions affecting to "All rates". It is not operational to delete all restrictions affecting to "All rates" in order to eliminate an specific rate. Instead of not letting you delete that rate, it should be asked with a "warning" something like "would you like to delete this rate eventhough there is a restriction on it?

  8. It would be much needed to have an option to choose which age category to link to rate groups and products. Now we are forced to sell 0€ products and also package rates for children, even though they are not available for children. Very handy for booking engine and less confusion to end customer.

  9. Often we get attendees that make reservations outside of the group block, usually by human error. It would be ideal if we can edit the rate code or change their rate to a group rate block and then, after changing the code, it automatically changes the room rate to match the group rate, applies the group routing rules, group product rules. I have seen this is all our previous PMS systems, I am confused why its not an option.

  10. When you have derived (dependent) rates, it would be good if you can add different adjustments per room type.
    For example to have 10% higher for a Single room, 15% higher for a Twin room, and so on. At the moment it is only possible to make absolute adjustments with same percentage/amount for all the room types.

  12. In the overview of all the products we have in the additional and bookable services, I really miss a column that shows which products are visible for employees. Or a possibility to filter those products only.
    Now I have to either enter each product to see if the option is selected or open a second screen as an employee to see what is visible.

  14. In the list of rates, we see
    Name, Base rate, Type (private or public), Short name, External name, Enabled, Default.
    It would be nice to have at least one extra column, to visualise the adjustment (absolute or relative) from the base rate. When there's a lot of rates to setup and check it can be time consuming to do those 3 clicks (rate, pricing, adjustment).

  15. We currently find the process in Mews Operations of assigning cleaners to rooms very clunky... and possibly the worst feature of Mews. Here are some suggestions for improving this process:

    1. Show employee name or incorporate a drop down menu for assignee selection. Currently you have to type in a few letters of the employee's name and then it shows only an email address, so you can't be sure it's the right employee unless you are a genius and know everyone's email address. Surely this is a simple one to solve?

  16. We have a bunch of big groups coming which all have the same task set up, for different departments (e.g. housekeeping and reception). It would be great to be able to make the same task once for the whole group, instead of doing 30-40 tasks individually. The same would go for if we need to make the same task for multiply departments, it would make it easier to just choose the corresponding departments.

  17. Moving unpaid items from one bill A to another bill/ customer bill B is often not possible. We have to add a new bill C, and move bill A and B to bill C and end up with lots of empty bills that can not be deleted.

    Empty bills should always be deleted automatically after moving the items.

  18. When multiple reservations are selected within the group, users can easily make changes on the "Properties" tab or lock unlocking reservations and there are no warnings given.

    It would be great if there is a small warning saying that the change will be applied to all the selected reservations.

  19. We would like a function where we could download a PDF confirmation letter for guests that are a part of a group block that doesn't have any links or anything in it. Just simply information about their stay: name, date of arrival/departure, room category, rate etc.

  20. If you're searching for a company but the company doesn't exist in the system, usually there is an option to 'add new company' but this option doesn't exist when searching in the company field of the the guest profile for some reason. This would be super handy and avoid a lot of extra clicks.
