It would be very useful to be able to separate (1) the permission to charge a credit card online or via Mews Terminal and (2) the permission to refund (partially or all) a payment via a tokenized credit card for a given user (or a given group of user). For example front office agents should be able to charge a credit card online or via Mews Terminal but should not be permitted to make any refunds (which are to be restricted to a manager).

  2. Mobile amenities that are not part of the standard room equipment (e.g., extra beds, baby cots, diaper bins, children's stools, coffee/tea service, bathrobes) should be able to be managed centrally in Mews. Currently, mobile, limited-availability amenities cannot be centrally represented in Mews. Hotels are forced to work with external lists or manual coordination to track availability and usage. This leads to a lack of transparency regarding availability, double bookings, increased coordination efforts between reception and housekeeping, and potential guest dissatisfaction.   4. Our operations and guest experience would be so much smoother if tasks were automatically assigned to a specified department when a product is added! Product options currently only automatically assign tasks if a product is added during online check-in. This should be an option when a product is added during any step of the guest journey - either by the guest or by the reservations specialist.

  5. We would like some form of temporary OTA isolation / reception‑only mode, where, for example:

    • Changes made by reception (room moves, removing blocks, emergency allocations), do NOT sync to OTAs until the mode is turned off.

    • A short, manual pause (e.g. 5–10 minutes) on OTA updates while operational changes are being made

    The Problem:

    Currently, Mews only allows one type of room block. The 'Out of Order' block.

    When running close to full occupancy, there could be some daily operational issues, unexpected maintenance problems, guest conflicts, or urgent relocations.

  7. Hi,

    especially with groups booking multiple rooms, it happens that:

    in the same room, one or more guests arrive or depart on different dates. Or, for example, in a triple room, one person might leave before the other two, and another might arrive to take their place. We need a way to specify this; it’s also important for per-night-per-guest charges, such as city tax (automatically calculated per night per person), which must be reduced if a guest leaves early. But right now we have to do this manually, and there’s no way to specify different check-in/check-out dates.

  8. We’d like you to review the check-in process for groups.

    • When we send the check-in online e-mail, only the owner receives the e-mail. This is not smooth for large groups. The solution might be to have a link or be able to send the online check-in e-mail to multiple addresses at the same time.

    • When we choose to upload a file, we find these problems:

      • If the customer is Spanish, there is no field to add the second last name or the ID support number
      • There is no field to add addresses

    So there is no valid process to finish…

  9. Problem
    It is currently not possible to add tasks to group or block reservations. In addition, tasks in general are not searchable, which makes it very difficult to track what has been done or what is still pending — especially for group bookings.

    Operational impact
    For group bookings, we need to manage important milestones such as:

    Name list deadlines

    Booking cut-off dates

    Client follow-ups

    Today, these tasks cannot be linked to the block itself, and since tasks are not searchable, it is almost impossible to get an overview of tasks related to a specific group or block. This leads to…

  10. We work with a high number of AVAILABILITY BLOCKS (corporate Groups, Weddings, Event, etc.)

    Each AVAILABILITY BLOCKS is then booked through a SELFBOOKING ENGINE by the guests.

    We have a high number of CUSTOMIZED PRODUCTS for each EVENT, to be selfbooked by the guests of a certain AVAILABILITY BLOCK.

    We need a simple DROPDOWN to add Custom Bookable Products to each AVAILABILITY BLOCK and/or each SELFBOOKING ENGINE.

    We assume this is a rather undercomplex feature programming-wise.

  12. There used to be an arrow to go from the guest profile back to whatever page you were working on. Now the arrow is only there when you manage a reservation, but not for the guest profiles. Please bring it back!

  13. Splitting a reservation to allow a room change should NOT create a new reservation. It is not operationally efficient and makes no logical sense. Creating a new reservation leads to several issues:

    If the invoice is already closed, it generates a credit note.

    If the invoice is still open, it splits it into two invoices.

    When analyzing data for important decision-making, it distorts the results because you end up with a new reservation that is not real. It alters metrics such as booking lead time, pickup, and more.

    I strongly believe this is an issue that MEWS should address

  14. Current design of the Mews Invoice is restrictive and brings up repetitive information. Allow customizable HTML code or an integration that allows users to have different design of the invoice for individual guest or groups by using the Mews API to pull the relevant information required

  15. It would be nice to get some sort of notification when a booking is cancelled. That way it is possible for us to know if we suddenly have a room avaliable, when we know other guestst wish to stay with us, and we can inform them.

  17. I would like to suggest a small but very useful improvement for the Internal use function in the Mews Operations Timeline.

    At the moment, when creating an Internal use reservation, we can enter the block name, choose the assigned space, set the start and end time, add notes, and then create the reservation. This works well for one room or space.

    However, in daily hotel operations, we often need to block several rooms for the same internal reason — for example maintenance work, staff use, management rooms, renovation tasks, inspections, or operational blocks that affect more than one room at…

Why does Mews changes things for no reason? where is the back button on reservation gone? when I do my reservations checks, once I'm finished, I had to click back 5-6 times before it takes me back to the reservation report. Also, not impressed with new reservation report - you seem to have to re-enter all the filters every time you try to go back to original reservations list!

    There need to be a Overview function, a function where all reservations shows up in a detailed list which where you can filter directly on the overview either on name A-Ö, ratecodes, floor in the hotel or roomtype just as some examples.

  20. After the recent update, the Reservation page feels more cluttered when displaying restricted rates. Previously, only the text “Restricted” was shown, which made it clear and easy to distinguish these rates.

    Now that both the price and the “Restricted” label are displayed, it’s less clear. We would prefer the previous layout, as it was cleaner and easier to work with.
