Property Operations and PMS: this is the forum for posting your ideas and comments on all aspects of hotel operations, from reservations to events to metrics and reports. You'll find a category here for each of the major topics in property management, and if you can't find the right category, please search or post to the Other category. Where we can, we'll move ideas around to group them as intuitively as possible for the product managers working on the PMS.

  1. Group confirmation should have a more simple overview, one line per space category and per single/double use. Each line should have the folloring "tabs"/information: number of rooms, unit price, total pris, VAT. Group bookers asks for a simple overview and not 120 lines for each room.
    This confirmation should be generated in a PDF file and in vertical format.

  2. It would save a lot of time (and misstakes) if products, rates, etc can be duplicated instead of always having to start from scratch. Except for the obvious hassle of having to remember all the settings it would help us in keeping name-standards etc.
    function could be an option on any specific product/rate/category to "duplicate". That would open the "new entity" page but with the same options/texts etc pre-filled, ready for us to change as needed before saving.

  4. It would be nice to be able to promote specific products to specific rate groups segments or even more direct to specific rates and even better to be able to enable function for specific periods only.
    Example:
    - Offering Full day SPA access to OTA guest as an promotion in low season

  5. When the bill is fully paid upon checkout, the bill can be automatically closed, when the receptionist clicks "check out".

    Otherwise we get the following error: "To enable check-out, make sure that all bills are paid and the Unpaid items / Deposits section is empty. If there are any open items, convert them to a bill and then close it." on fully PAID bills, and to "bypass" that error, we just close the bill, without posting anything. Or some receptionists just move everything to a new bill, once again without posting anything, and only then they can check out the…

  6. Option to directly add the CC in the process of making a new reservation. Otherwise you need to go to the profile and add it there. It cost extra steps / clicks and also the change to forget to add the CC.

    It shout also be linked to the rate you choose -> non refundable, always ask for a CC.

  7. There are other suggestions about restricting products, but would also be good to restrict products by Room category, and rates/ packages/ dates

    For example -
    1 offer a cot to rooms that can only accommodate cots and not to all rooms

    2 offer pet products to rooms that can accommodate a cot and not to all rooms

    3 only offer a product on specific dates, rather than all, or seasonally within a certain date range - Strawberries in Summer

    4 by package type, if a rate includes a product you wont necessarily want to add again

  8. When rebate an invoice, the original invoice number should show at the PDF, at the header level.
    Then no need for that information on each item line.
    And no need for the customer to be informed about the reason for the rebate - that is for internal use and should be an option to show/not show at the PDF

  9. Segments are attached to rate codes in the settings of Mews. The segment attached to a rate code should always be attached to reservations with that rate code. Currently when users change the rate code of a reservation it retains the original segment. Additionally, users should not be able to change a segment on a reservation as this should be locked to the rate code.

  10. An option to cancel the invoice which would then post all the charges on that invoice back onto the billing tab with the original consumption date. From there we can then negative out what needs to be cancel and then settle the charges as required. This would be a great option for accounts that are settled via EFT.

  12. Enable assigning specific rooms to the group block. Properties should be able to block specific room numbers for the group so that the groups are staying close to each other.

  13. We are looking to IMPORT new calender events, as we have a chain of 15 hotels and need to add these events seperately for each event, each hotel...
    would be extremely helpful to add all of these events at once

  15. Is there a way to move one or more bookings from one group to either a new one or another already excising group?
    merge doesn't work as it somehow moves ALL the group bookings even if you only have ticked those that you need to move.
    if not possible, could it be made possible please as sometimes you add a booking by mistake and now you need to cancel it and make again. if the guest is already in-house, that is of course not an option!

  17. The Manager Report ran by Accounting category adds up inventory from different spaces. But when we create a Stay space and a Day Use space, it multiplies our inventory, although it's linked to the same exact rooms. Therefore, occupancy is always incorrect. For example, my property has 24 rooms, but because I linked each room to both Stay and Day Use, the report states 48 rooms and occupancy is incorrect. The system should understand that because it's linked to the same rooms, it should not multiply inventory.

  18. Change the name of out of service, out of service means can't be used in real terms but in mews means still for sale. Doesn't make any sense and too similar to out of order, both mean the same thing. Out of service should say minimal maintenance

  20. It is a real shame, that in your support email replies you cannot include at the bottom the initial requests which shows a detailed explanation of the issue submitted.
    So one has to always dig back to find out what one originally said in a previous email. With several tickets open this can get really confusing.
    I would highly recommend you change your system, so the full history of conversations is always on ONE ticket, including the original request.
