  1. It would be very helpful if the Mews Terminal could also be used to scan ID cards and collect guest signatures. This functionality is already common in many other markets and would allow small hotels, who cannot afford a full Mews Kiosk setup, to still benefit from a more automated and integrated check-in process.

    Ideally, there would be a new button (similar to the current webcam scan option) in the guest profile. When clicked, it would initiate a flow on the Mews Terminal:

    The receptionist takes a photo of the front and back of the ID using the terminal’s camera.

  2. Have a column for space status in the check out report so that the reception can see if the room has been cleaned or not . If the guest did leave without checking out and hk has cleaned the room, it automatically makes it dirty if we check the room out, therefore to make sure/make it easier to see the room status so that the reception can change the status back to inspected without having to click in to each reservation.

  4. Besides the stay service we work with parking and bicycles. For example if the guests books a room including car park, the parking spot will be added as a "parking" service and gets assigned a unique reservation number.

    The problem that occurs now is that the room and parking are not linked together; meaning that when the room gets cancelled or amended, the parking spot will stay as it is and will need to be cancelled or amended manually.

    We are looking for a way to link the two types of spaces together.

  5. House use

    We had a "house use" block beginning held after our departure time and before our daily arrival time to perform some essential maintenance. Since then, we have managed to receive a booking the day prior and allows a stayover to the day that we had blocked for 4 hours! We had the house use in place so that we could still receive bookings departing and/or arriving that day but wanted to avoid stayovers. Mews have informed me "the house use is outside of the occupancy times and therefore it is not taken into account."

  7. Different email templates (confirmation/ prestay++) for different seasons

    Situated in the middle of the mountains of Norway we run very differently summer and winter. Mews is great with giving the customers helpful information before the stay which makes it much easier for us at the reception. But: we need to re-write the templates two - three times per year, adjust them to winter info/ summer info/ autumn info.
    Maybe this is special for us, but I wonder if not also bigger hotels could think of adjusting pre-information to seasons like x-mas and summer breaks.

  8. We work extensively with product rules in Mews and have encountered a recurring challenge: the inability to define a start and end date for product rules. This limitation creates significant complications, particularly when we need to add or replace products in existing rules.

    The Issue:

    When a product is added to an existing product rule, it is automatically applied to all future reservations, including those that were created before the change but have not yet been checked in.   9. It would be helpful to be able to work with a date when adjusting the price of products, e.g. City Taxe valid until date xx.xx.xxxx CHF.... from date xx.xx.xxxx CHF ... valid. City taxes are legal requirements that can change from time to time.

  10. It would be great if it is possible to assign HSK employees in the furture. So you can assign the employees already a day before or even longer. So when a Manager is off or arriving later the employees know where to start.

  11. We’d like to ask you to include the number of beds or guests in the Check-out report.

    We are a hostel, and when the reservation is for a private room, the system counts it as one departure. If we have a Private room - 8 beds, the system counts it as just one bed in the checkout report.

    That is a problem for example when we need to know in advance how many beds need to be cleaned to order next week's clean bed linen. If we have 20 single beds, one Private room - 8 beds, one Private room…

  12. Will there be a time in the future where we can prompt the system to create rates, restrictions and promotions the same way we prompt an AI, and all the mapping will be done seamlessly: ex.

    Please create a rate plan called "Summer Break" for all my properties. the rate needs to be 15% off BAR, and require a minimum 2 nights. the rate needs full pre-payment and can be booked on direct channels and all OTAs.

  13. When a reservation has met the conditions of a "No-show" automatically, there should be a sequence of events for Mews to automatically add (not only) the Cancellation Fee + Payment + balanced Bill Closure at the end.

  14. We would like to request Origin logging for all reservations.

    When reservations are created through a channel manager or via integrations, Mews logs the Origin and Origin ID. However for manually created reservations, Mews does not automatically log the reservation Origin such as Call Center, Email or Phone. As a result, integration partners (such as Lighthouse) receive Mews data files with various blank Origin fields leading to incomplete reporting.

When you have a overbooking of a space category in the future, i.e. December, and you are creating an Availability Block on the a previous date, i.e. June, the overbooking reduces the availability of that space category in June as well. The availability calculation strategies diffusive or discrete, should have in consideration the actual dates of the booking in overbooking. To have the availability on the availability block we have to go to that future booking, and change the requested category to a higher space category and then go back to the availability block, so the real availability can be…

  16. When a reservation is modified (eg because the check out date is extended), the room can be locked. However when you are extending this reservation, it is quite possible that you already have a locked reservation blocking the room you are about to extend.

    MEWS does not warn you when you are extending the reservation if and when this is the case, hence your perhaps VIP on arrival is moved without anybody being informed.

  17. Bei der Booking Engine sollte für bestimmte Tarifgruppen die Möglichkeit bestehen, dass sie eine Buchung abschliessen können, ohne Angabe einer Kreditkarte. Gerade grössere Firmen mit Vertrag steigen mittlerweile auf Onlinebuchungen um, diese Kunden haben ein Bedürfnis, Reservationen schnell abwickeln zu können. Wenn vertraglich festgelegt ist, dass die Firma den Aufenthalt bezahlt, sollte es möglich sein, die Buchung ohne eine Garantie erstellen zu können.

  20. It would be great if we could label the bookings individually and make sure that this is everywhere visible.
    Example: Speakers from the seminar
    We make do with the top management classification in the guest profile, but even this is not obvious everywhere.
    I expect to see this information in the booking overview of a group, for example, without having to expand the reservation. And it must be visible in the timeline.
