ID check & signature directly via Mews Terminal
It would be very helpful if the Mews Terminal could also be used to scan ID cards and collect guest signatures. This functionality is already common in many other markets and would allow small hotels, who cannot afford a full Mews Kiosk setup, to still benefit from a more automated and integrated check-in process.
Ideally, there would be a new button (similar to the current webcam scan option) in the guest profile. When clicked, it would initiate a flow on the Mews Terminal:
The receptionist takes a photo of the front and back of the ID using the terminal’s camera.
The guest signs directly on the terminal’s touchscreen.
All data is uploaded instantly to Mews.
This would eliminate the need for third-party software, reduce friction in operations, and keep everything centralized in the Mews ecosystem.
