offering discount when booking for x number of nights on a certain rate plan
We offer a 28% discount for stays of 7 nights plus as well as 30% discount when staying 29 nights plus.
at the moment that means you have to set up different rates, which is not always ideal when working with a OTA or TOUR through your channel manager.
is there anyway that this could be build in on Mews' side so that you are able to put in percentage discounts for certain lengths of stays (more than one per rate if possible)9 votes -
Group General Availability Block
When creating a new Availability block for a Group, provide a checkmark toggle that allows for booking out of general availability, rather than creating day by day by space category blocks.
- There are times we provide "rate offers" to groups without any specific room type commitment at all, ie. We'll provide a floating 20% discount on any room types we have available, up until a specific booking cut-off date. There are times we may also offer commission on the rooms that book.Voucher codes do not really work for us in these situations either, as they are not fenced…

Do not apply cancellation fee for date changes
Mews automatically applies cancellation fee for date changes within the cancellation window (unless you untick the box before making a change).
We do not believe that date changes should be treated the same as cancellations and the cancellation fee should not be automatically applied.
This is currently causing operational challenges with charges and adjustments in billing (in the rush, staff may forget to untick the box as this is not intuitive).
It also causes guest complaints, as guests are still charged a fee even though their intention is to stay at the property (they may have just missed a flight…

Accounting ledger with "negative / positive" filter
Our accounting ledger, with the hostel closing and a lot of cancellations, is overloaded with negative outstanding amounts.
We have seen with the MEWS team that as soon as we have a cancellation, the late cancellation turnover is posted automatically without us being able to do anything.
In this case, is it possible to ensure that the negative and positive outstandings are filtered out?

Make the reservation purpose customisable
It would be really helpful if we could customise the reservation purpose drop down to add our own purposes and to then be able to report of those for example we have emergency stays and end of life etc and to be able to record this as the reservation purpose would be a huge help.

After Upgrade no more automatic change of rooms from Mews after extentions
After the last upgrade of mews. It is not possible to extend an upgraded person in the upgraded category as Mews moves the booking to the originally booked room (regardless if blocked or not )

Cancel posting without producing an invoice
When we need to cancel an overnight stay or remove a product from the billing, we are forced to post a negative charge and close, which produces an invoice. I don't want to produce an invoice with a value of 0. I should be able to simply remove the posting in order to correct my invoice.

Report on 'check out with unbalanced bill'
There is an option to 'check out with unbalanced bill' and the option to put a reason for this. It would be useful if this created a a notification or task for a manager to alert them of this.

Housekeeping would like to assign two housekeeping employees to the same room i.e. one for the bathroom and one for the remaining of the room.

Being able to select several parameters in reservation report
When making reports you often need to select more than just one rate group or one rate, or one company, or one of the filters. It would be amazing to be able to select the filters freely and choose more than one in each category

changing rate
Able to change rate in existing reservation for future dates - currently this is not possible when an invoice has been raised and you are obliged to split the reservation. for long stays this is a nightmare and distorts the arrival/departure figures plus confuses housekeeping

It would be easy to be able to draw an excel file / overview of all the created products with their accounting categories.

Room assignement by channel origin: OTAs vs Direct bookings
I suggest being able to include as a prominent feature the origin of the client's reservation for room assignment.

Block room as OOO even if it's occupied
At the moment, if you want to block a space as OOO the space has to be empty. This is really frustrating if you have a big space, eg our 28 bed dorm. I need to unallocate/upgrade all bookings first. It would be easier if I could mark the space as OOO first, then any reservations that can fit into other spaces of this type would be automatically moved. Everything else would sit unallocated for me to upgrade when I'm ready.

Is more important to know how many ROOMS and not GUESTS are arriving/departing day by day in the Dashboard overview.

Reservation Report with locked info
There should be the ‘Locked’ Icon in this screen for and easy and immediate observation of which room/reservation is locked. Now we are obliged to check each one (one by one) to see which are locked (my guessing would be that you could add a new column just for that).

Date time picker for reports should be the same as the new reservation screen.
The date time picker in reports has a few extra clicks than the NRS. I would like to be able to select the start and end date when the calendar is open, rather than having to open the close date calendar after selecting a start date.

When you got the inform list of the reservations. The people that a arriving or leaving. Having there more options (customise) to see there only the things that you want to see.
(Example: can take the comision, tariff and totally away. Or when the reservation was made).
