  1. Once a reservation is canceled in Mews, unfortunately it must be recreated in case a guest decides they would like to stay. This can be inconvenient in case of no shows that must come the next day or reservations that may have been canceled accidentally. An additional feature to reinstate canceled bookings could help simplify these occasions as all booking details could be preserved and records would be unified.

    Hi there Mewsers!

    You’ve asked and we’ve listened.

    We upgraded the action log to make it more detailed and easier to use.

    Below are some of the additional details that we’ve added.

    Before, when a reservation moved to a different room, you couldn’t see which room it was in originally—now you’ll always see exactly how the reservation looked before and after each change.

    We’ve enhanced updates for products. You’ll now be able trace for example, the additions of order items as well as the price adjustments made to your products.

    And finally on the pricing side, no need for a calculator! You can now monitor and report on changes to prices with the both net and gross values, as well as the affects the changes you’ve made have on taxes.

    We will continue working on updates to the action log for different sections of the system. Stay tuned for more!

  4. Guests may know in advance that they have companions coming to stay for only part of their reservation. Therefore, properties may want to apply these changes as soon as possible, rather than waiting until after check-in. This additional feature could allow users to split future bookings as necessary.

  5. Once a reservation has been confirmed in Mews, it is currently not possible to change that status to optional. Rather, the user must delete and recreate this reservation as optional in order to do so. Introducing the functionality to edit reservation status could help your front office simplify booking changes as they could update those details directly from the reservation module.

    Hello from the Mews product team.

    At the moment we feel that the functionality around restrictions is flexible.

    You are able to apply restriction across different rates using rate groups for example, or apply them to the base rate which will restrict all related rates. Please check out our Help guides on https://help.mews.com/en/ for more information about our restrictions functionality.

    We also introduced the ability to view restrictions on a calendar which provides a great overview of currently applied restrictions.

    Therefore, we are currently not prioritising this request, but we will keep it open for further comments and opportunity to upvote, especially around the requests of being able to select multiple space types to apply the restriction to.

  7. Currently, stay products are posted on bills on the day of a guest's checkout, however, this can complicate the billing process for some properties. Therefore, splitting stay products per night and listing them on day of consumption could be very helpful for clarity and also for reporting, as revenue per day would be visible in Accounting and Manager reports.

    Stay products are now posted on the date they’re consumed. All existing products have been replaced with products with the updated settings. Any products posted to an existing, future reservation were also updated to the new posting settings.

    How do you like the feature so far and do you have any ideas for the future?

  9. We can add products to all reservations simultaneously, but it is not possible to cancel them with one command. With the ability to cancel items from all bookings at the same time, managing stay products will become much more simplified.

    Hey Mewsers, we do understand that this idea is really important to the Mews Hospitality Community, and whilst it’s not something on the Mews roadmap, we have an exciting update from one of the Mews integration partners!

    Mews Marketplace now offers a connection to Omniboost Allotments (https://www.mews.com/en/products/marketplace/omniboost-allotments) with which you can add the functionality of creating allotment blocks and reservations to your MEWS property.

    Simply log-in to Mews, click on Marketplace → Event Management → Omniboost Allotments, select ‘Create new account’ and subscribe!

  11. To reinstate future bookings that were canceled (or marked as a no-show) up to one day after the original check-in date. This feature will simplify the procedure of amending booking that were not meant to be canceled. It will boost efficiency since clicking on a reinstate button, it is easier than creating a new booking.

  12. Company profiles are very important to keep track of business travelers and are used to analyze data regarding corporate stays. For this reason, it is always important to keep company details up to date. As many companies change or if there are any duplicate profiles, it could then be very useful to implement company profile merging, similar to the feature available for customer profiles. This addition can help keep all profiles up to date and encourage consolidation in your property's system.

  14. It would be great if when changing the dates of a reservation in the properties tab you could have an option to keep the same price when changing the dates. This could be added as it is the apply cancellation fees, which you can select or not. Specially now with the Covid-19 crisis we are changing a lot of reservation dates keeping the conditions for our guests, and if the price of the new dates is higher than the price they had, when you change the dates the price per night is automatically updated. We need to have the option to can mark the reservations for the next days as ''ready to check in'' so we know that there is nothing else to do with this reservations in terms of testing the credit card, or whatever is needed to do with the reservation, or mark the reservation as ''incidence'' if there is something that needs to be done on that booking.

  16. Would be nice if the room number shows up behind the name while using the search bar. If you look up a name now, you have to click on the name before you see the room number.

  17. When dealing with a booking extension ( checked-in) Mews automatically changes the room allocation to a new vacant room. This does not make any sense as the guest is already in house, and Mews should not be able to change by itself an In-house reservation. This is leading into a lot of check-ins into occupied rooms and therefore, guest complaints.

  18. Tasks are very helpful to track daily responsibilities in Mews. However as many tasks are recurring, it could be helpful to eliminate that manual work and add a repeating tag to allow automatic repetition of those particular assignments on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.

Groups configuration We need to have Group blocks i.e. *When we assign a booking code to a group booking, and the clients will reserve the rooms in the IBE, the PMS should understand that the room reserved need to be picked up from the block.     We are very happy to announce that we are beginning to work on adding group block functionality to Mews. If you have an integrated system you can begin making use of block functionality through the Connector API.

    Over the coming months we will begin adding block functionality to the PMS. If you are interested in learning more, and if you would like to share your feedback on our current prototypes, please let me know in the comments section or by responding to this email.

    Hello Mewsers,

    We are very happy to inform you that we have released the new group billing screen!

    On this new screen we have separated bill items from past and future reservations. Now you can stick to seeing the relevant bills for your reservation in the selected stay period

    Don’t worry, we haven’t gotten rid of it completely! We have created an additional billing screen for each guest. You can access this screen by selecting “All guest’s bills” in the new billing screen. This will show you all open past, present and future bills for the guest you have selected, with convenient tags so you always know which bills are relevant for you.

    Please note this functionality is only available on the new billing screen which will continue to run along side the current billing module.
