Property Operations and PMS: this is the forum for posting your ideas and comments on all aspects of hotel operations, from reservations to events to metrics and reports. You'll find a category here for each of the major topics in property management, and if you can't find the right category, please search or post to the Other category. Where we can, we'll move ideas around to group them as intuitively as possible for the product managers working on the PMS.

Please keep in mind that there is a separate forum for topics specific to the operations of hotel chains and groups. Go to the Multi-property management forum for anything about portfolio management or rate, product, package and restriction functionality across multiple properties.

  1. It would be easy to select multiple reservation when checking-in or changing room number. For instance, if you have multiple rooms in a basic category and you want to give them all an upgrade (however separate reservations), it would be nice to have an easy way to select them all and drag to a different category. Moreover, When checking in rooms who are not merged together, however do arrive together, it would be easy if you could all check them in at once.

  3. it would be good if certain words or phrases could be highlighted in a task or made to bold font so that it stands out in the message.
    Especially important as tasks can not be linked to an arrival or departure date or set up as a recurring task (i.e. every week on a monday)

  4. If you go in to the space status report and view different dates the responsible person is based on the current day responsible person (i.e. Housekeeping lady 1 is responsible for room 101 on 27/10//20, according to the report the same persons was responsible for room 101 on 25/10/20 even though housekeeping lady 1 was not working that day or had repsonsibility for a different room)

    Would be great if Mews could store data for the responisble person each day, so you can easily track who was responsible for which room on which date and maybe let housekeeping manager assign…

  7. Add filter option by "Assigned Space" to the Financial Analytics dashboard (and why not also to Manager Analytics dashboard).

    For property managers, it is a crucial feature as filtering out financial data on a property level is key. And for property managers, an Assigned space = A property. And I can bet you will get more and more property managers as clients :)

    For hotels, this allows to track metrics on a room level.

    As the data is readily available in the database it shouldn't be difficult to implement, it's just a PowerBI set up.

  8. It would be great if there would be the option to add 'House use' on a recurring basis. (For example to block one room for a weekend each month, to make sure to have availability for VIP guests etc).

  9. I would love to see a standalone version of mews that doesn't run on a browser.

    This would have two key benefits:

    • much faster loading times. We suffer from incredibly slow operating speeds all through mews, every time we press a button it has to spend time loading, which in cue means customers have to wait longer. creating terrible customer experience.

    • ability to have an offline mode. We also suffer not only from occasional mews outages, due to slow/unresponsive actions - but also bad internet where we are, which can often be very temperamental and drop out often during adverse…

  12. Currently the favicons in the browser tabs look the same for these two sites, which makes navigating between multiple tabs longer than it should (say you have 2 help pages open and 2 MEWS tabs - jumping between them can be tedious since the tab (fav)icons are the same.

  14. The main booker of a company always wants to receive a confirmation email with all of the guest names now the main booker only sees a reservation number of all reservations

  16. I am looking to use the Mews system to write messages to guests using the email addresses of guests that are logged in to the Mews system. Although I have Admin Rights I can't set up messaging to individual guests. Wanted to do this to communicate around cancellation arrangements for example which is something of a major current task.

  18. The possibly of closed-to-stay restrictions being able to take 3 separate rules into consideration. For example:

    • If one were to book 60+ days ahead of arrival they would be required to book a minimum of 14 days.
    • If one were to book 35-59 days ahead of arrival they would be required to book a minimum of 4 days.
    • If one were to book 0-35 days ahead of arrival they would be required to book a minimum of 3 days.

    For the time being the restriction only takes one rule into consideration and ignores the other 2. This is useful for…

  19. Create limited stock for the different product solded.
    For example, if we sold parking spot, and we have a limited number of them.
    it will be perfect if we can't sell more space than we have, without hve checking every day.
