Impove Timeline visual appearance for improved working conditions & accessibility
We're new to MEWS and whilst the functionality is brilliant (thank you), our front of house team really struggle with the visual appearance of the timeline. Spending lots of screen time on a screen with poor visual appearance and contrasts is not healthy and inefficient as it is difficult to see the timeline at a glance - please could you look at improving visual contrasts both colours and lines between dates/spaces for improved accessibility.

Split future reservations
Guests may know in advance that they have companions coming to stay for only part of their reservation. Therefore, properties may want to apply these changes as soon as possible, rather than waiting until after check-in. This additional feature could allow users to split future bookings as necessary.

Change confirmed state to optional
Once a reservation has been confirmed in Mews, it is currently not possible to change that status to optional. Rather, the user must delete and recreate this reservation as optional in order to do so. Introducing the functionality to edit reservation status could help your front office simplify booking changes as they could update those details directly from the reservation module.

Example:
As group reservations often appear together on the Timeline, there is not currently an efficient solution to relocate all of them once. An additional Timeline feature could enable moving all group reservations to another block simultaneously.261 votes -

Recurring tasks
Tasks are very helpful to track daily responsibilities in Mews. However as many tasks are recurring, it could be helpful to eliminate that manual work and add a repeating tag to allow automatic repetition of those particular assignments on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.

Ability to Book a Reservation by Overriding Restrictions by Management
When using Mews to book a reservation, there are times a manager needs to have the ability to override the restrictions and "Force-Sell" a room. Example the property may have a 2 night minimum, but wants to book a VIP for 1 night only. The process now is to remove the restriction, book the reservation and put the restriction back on which exposes availability. Better to have a NS (Normal Sell using restrictions) and FS (Force-Sell with overrides restrictions) for Management use only.

Solve tasks by default when you cancel the reservation
When you cancel a group reservation, the tasks attached to one of the reservation will remain active. It would be helpful if tasks can be solved by default after you cancel the reservation

Display all availability blocks on timeline
When viewing the timeline. availability blocks are not visible. It would be good to be able to see availability blocks on the timeline.
When the team look at the timeline it is misleading regarding availability if large availability blocks are in place.

Allow to select multiple rooms when creating a new 'out of order block'
It is sometimes necessary to block more than one room out of order (an entire floor or entire building in the event of large scale refurbishment work, for example) and it would be helpful to be able to place multiple rooms 'out of order' at once if they all should be blocked for the same dates and same reason.

Extending an in house booking - Mews changes room allocation
When dealing with a booking extension ( checked-in) Mews automatically changes the room allocation to a new vacant room. This does not make any sense as the guest is already in house, and Mews should not be able to change by itself an In-house reservation. This is leading into a lot of check-ins into occupied rooms and therefore, guest complaints.

Change PAX on inhouse reservations
What we would like is to be able to change the PAX on a nightly basis.
E.g.
"Guest A" has reserved a room for 5 nights. On night 1,2,3 Guest A stays in the room alone. Night 4 & 5 "Guest B" will join "Guest A" in the same room.
As for now we have no possibility to change the amount adults/children since there's already products that has been consumed previous nights. (breakfast --> via product rule)

keep the same price when changing the dates of a reservation
It would be great if when changing the dates of a reservation in the properties tab you could have an option to keep the same price when changing the dates. This could be added as it is the apply cancellation fees, which you can select or not. Specially now with the Covid-19 crisis we are changing a lot of reservation dates keeping the conditions for our guests, and if the price of the new dates is higher than the price they had, when you change the dates the price per night is automatically updated. can mark reservations as ''ready to check in'' or ''invalid credit card''
We need to have the option to can mark the reservations for the next days as ''ready to check in'' so we know that there is nothing else to do with this reservations in terms of testing the credit card, or whatever is needed to do with the reservation, or mark the reservation as ''incidence'' if there is something that needs to be done on that booking.

Automatically assign a task when a product is added
Our operations and guest experience would be so much smoother if tasks were automatically assigned to a specified department when a product is added! Product options currently only automatically assign tasks if a product is added during online check-in. This should be an option when a product is added during any step of the guest journey - either by the guest or by the reservations specialist.

Link tasks to arrival / departure date
Task linked to arrival / departure date - ensure you are able to link a task to a specific event in the reservation like the departure date; meaning that if the departure date changes, so thus the task. Ideally, you should also be able to set a plus or minus days for this link (i.e. check one day prior to departure if guest has returned the DVD player)
