Automatically assign a task when a product is added
Our operations and guest experience would be so much smoother if tasks were automatically assigned to a specified department when a product is added! Product options currently only automatically assign tasks if a product is added during online check-in. This should be an option when a product is added during any step of the guest journey - either by the guest or by the reservations specialist.

Create automatic tasks for booked products. The product would then have to create a task for a predefined department at a predefined time. Example: Product “Bouquet of flowers for arrival in the room” for the day before arrival at 8.00 a.m. for the floristry department.

Right on point. Failing to spot and address requests like room add-ons (rose petals, prosecco in room on arrival) is common cause of refund requests and complaints for us.

This is precisely what I was looking for, I was sent here by the live support and am so glad other's had the same idea already.
For us it would help immensely to take off the unreasonable amount of legwork from front office/reservations. Currently, If guests requests rose petals, champagne/chocolates in room on arrival, F&B and housekeeping rely on reception to ensure they note it in properties, manually review upcoming arrivals for following day one by one and write it on a sheet, one for HSK and one for F&B. If we could program products/services in so task is automatically created to put those in, those departments only need to review their tasks each morning and know exactly what to do. This will reduce complaint by...30% easily.

This is vital to streamlining f&b operations for us! It would be a massive breakthrough for our business if a task could be automatically assigned to a specific department (f&b or front desk) whenever a product is added to a reservation!!

A Mews notification email can be triggered when a product is added through the booking engine. We use this when a Guests adds a late checkout or an early check-in, both of which are products. The email arrives in our inbox and a rule has been set up to auto sort emails arriving with the words "services", "late checkout", and/or "early check-in"... these go into a folder labeled **SERVICES and this serves to alert the Front Desk when they've been added to a booking. By flagging the **SERVICES folder as a Favorite, it's one of the few folders in the upper corner of the email inbox and the count of unread messages in the folder serves as the flag to check what was added, by whom, and for what date(s).
This is not to suggest your idea is not of value because if introduced by Mews, this would eliminate the entire external process that has to be managed outside of Mews.

If a guest books a specific product such a pet, the task will be automatically created for the HSK team to insert a dog bed in the room.
If the guest books a champagne/wine on arrival, an automated task will be created for RS to prep the champaign and bring to the room -

This would save a lot of time! Not only a task after selecting a product during online check-in, but being able to select if we need a task during several parts of the guest journey.

Products have the ability to send a message to an individual or department when created. It would be great to have the ability to automatically create a task as well. This would need to have their own notification fields of who to create the task for.

It would be great to have a task created when a product is added during the booking process on the booking engine. This will save time so the team do not have to search upcoming bookings.

Wenn über die Buchungsmaske eine Reservierung gemacht wird, und der Gast bucht einen Blumenstrauß, Massagen oder E-Bikes, dann sollte eine Aufgabe erstellt werden.
Vielen DANK :-) -
Yes! this would be very helpful

Once a guest purchases an additional product (wine, airport transfer etc.) along with making a room reservation, the Reservations department gets an automatic task.
As the Front Desk is the department taking care of organising this, it would be useful if you could choose to which department these tasks get assigned to. -

Currently the option "create task when added by customer" for stay items is only triggered when the guest adds this after they have completed the booking process. However, a task should be created each time a guest adds this item. Even during the booking process as certain orders or actions need to be taken so we can ensure that the item added can be guaranteed to the guest upon check-in.

Would be very handy if on the product settings we could decide which department would be assigned the task when the product is added.
For example some products are added and a task should be created for housekeeping, others for the front office team.
Also to set when the task generates, when product is added or on the consumption date. -

When a product is purchased, a task is created. If this task can be allocated to a specific assignee or department this would ensure no tasks are missed.
