Property Operations and PMS: this is the forum for posting your ideas and comments on all aspects of hotel operations, from reservations to events to metrics and reports. Where we can, we'll move ideas around to group them as intuitively as possible for the product managers working on the PMS.

  1. Sometimes reporting issues for repair can be difficult to describe to your maintenance teams. However,we all know that pictures are worth a thousand words. Therefore,for clarification, adding photos to your Space Status report could help all departments communicate more efficiently, as you can report problems more accurately using visual cues.

  3. In addition to fixed price adjustment, many properties would prefer to use a relative adjustment field, which would be used to adjust prices based on extra or empty beds. This setting could allow revenue managers more flexibility as they decide on pricing for each space or space category, particularly in case the number of guests does not exactly match the number of beds in the chosen space type.

    Thank you for your suggestions and feedback. We are currently researching improvements to group functionality and have updated this request as one to be upvoted by the Mews community.

    In order to assist us with our research we would like to gather additional use cases for groups. Would you be able to share more information with us regarding how you envision a “Group offer calculator” to work?

  10. As there may be many tasks created for your property, they can be difficult to keep track of when managing many aspects of your operations. For this reason, passing task deadlines should generate a notification for the task creator or any department members to which the task is assigned. After being sent, these pending notifications would only be dismissed when the task is fully completed. This implemented feature could help all members of your team stay more on schedule and would encourage task completion in line with all assigned deadlines.

  11. The Mews Reservation report is one of the most flexible reports in the system, considering the number of items available for data comparison. While the report is in 'Totals' mode, the addition of a column for 'average length of stay' could provide another very useful criteria for future evaluation and planning.

  14. "In case a guest would like to be assigned a different room for their stay, it is easily changeable through the State tab of the reservation module. Using the assign drop-down, all rooms are visible. However, to improve the user experience, this list of spaces could be reduced to display only inspected and vacant rooms, making alternate space selection faster and easier."

  15. Providing a great experience often comes down to the very last detail, which is why little things, such as turndown service, can make a big difference in a guest's stay. As an additional space status, including turndown as part of your operations, could help add that special touch to guests' rooms during their stay.
