  1. We'd like to adopt the 'soft opt-in' marketing model whereby bookers are automatically subscribed to our marketing database unless they specifically opt-out at the point of booking. This would require the current wording to be changed (ideally editable by us), and the checkbox to be ticked as default (or change to tick to opt-out).

  3. We are experiencing difficulties in implementing the upgrade function in the Mews Kiosk because the pricing becomes incorrect. For example, a guest books a Standard Room for 100 EUR when the room pricing is low. Upon arrival, the daily rate has increased to 160 EUR. The price difference to the next room category is 20 EUR. If the guest had gone to the reception, they would have been offered an upgrade for the difference of 20 EUR. However, in the Mews Kiosk, the guest is offered an upgrade for the difference between the confirmed price at the time of booking…

On the Mews Booking Engine, when guests choose the “Pay at Hotel” option, they are required to enter their credit card details for a pre-authorization (usually for the first night) as a guarantee. However, the interface still displays a “Proceed to Payment” button or message, which creates confusion and mistrust.

    Many guests believe they are being charged immediately, and some abandon their booking altogether. This not only leads to a poor user experience but also reduces conversion rates.

    We would like the ability to customize or replace the current message with something more accurate and transparent, such as:

  8. It would be great if a warning message would pop up when exiting the email builder (refreshing, closing the window or going back), so we do not discard changes by mistake.

  9. When guests check-in online, we still require them to come to the Front Desk to provide an ID and their home address. Capturing it during the Mews guest journey makes more sense. Guests often say "what is the point of checking in online if I have to come to the Front Desk anyway." The "online check-in" thus annoys the guests as having to do extra work.

  10. We would like to customize the occupancy in the booking engine, so that we have the posibility to manage the amount of available houses for sale.

    For example, when there is one house left in each house type, it should not be possible to sell in the Booking engine to avoid overbooking, so it is only possible to book by contacting us directly.

    1. Handling of VIP's - being able to pull up a report of only Arrivals
      with certain Customer Classifications (mulitple-select-drop-down in
      reservation report with Customer Classification filter like Segments filter). Also being able to pull this via a Report like the Guest in house report.

    2. Disabled classification needs to be part of the Guests in House report
      for emergencies.

    3. Customer Classifications need to be a filtered in the Space status report for
      Housekeeping to identify special requirement rooms

  12. Signature for accompanying persons Optional

    Since the update in July 2024, MEWS Kiosk asks for the signature of all travelling persons. As the data is usually filled in by the main booker and is not required by law, I agree that the signature for accompanying persons can be set to fixed, optional or not required as required.

    In addition, it makes little sense to ask for this data for small children etc..

  13. Manche Gästegruppen müssen nicht selbst zahlen und nutzen daher den Online Check-in nicht weil dort die Kreditkarte angegeben werden muss. Warum kann man dies nicht auswählen? Die Arbeit wird nicht erleichtert, da zB Tagungsgäste sowohl Adresse als auch alle anderen Daten vor Ort eingeben müssen.

  15. Payment Successful emails are being sent regardless of the reservation and cannot be disabled currently.

    It would serve the properties best if the email could be sent to only designated recipients, especially when considering OTA confidential rates for CHM reservations. Sending the "payment successful" still reveals the amount that the hotel is trying hard to conceal.

  17. Yet it is not possible to customize Mews Kiosk App in the tone of voice that matches our brand. Meaning how we speak to the customers cant be set in Mews Kiosk. This is absolutely mandatory to match the brand standards

  18. For a bookable service for space like parking or bike, or similar a guest /adult count doesn’t make sense. It should be possible to disable the adult count field in the booking engine for that bookable service somehow.

  19. Add a button or checkbox in address details to mark them as "primary".
    Currently only the address entered last is marked as primary. To change an existing address to primary the address needs to be entered again manually.
    Therefore I sugggest a simple checkbox within the address edit view to mark an existing address as primary to the profile.
