Rate Mixing
The system should be able to propose the cheapest rate possible to our guests (like booking.com does). Mixing the rates to offer the best deal is a guarantee to compete better against booking.com. Not mixing the rates allows booking.com to steal bookings from us. Exemple: you activate a Last Minute deal on the next 48h. A guest want to arrive today and stay for 3 days. On booking.com, he will see a rate mixed from the last minute rate (for the 2 first nights) and from another rate for the 3d night. On our booking engine, you will see either no rate at all either a rate that is more expensive than the mix of the last minute rate + another one.
Hey community!
We've made some exciting progress in how we're thinking about introducing multiple rates within a single reservation, and we need your help!
We’d love to understand your expectations regarding the behavior around rate mixing. Right now, we’re especially looking for insights from two key roles:
- Reservation managers / front desk staff who handle reservations daily
- Revenue managers
If this sounds like you, you're the perfect person to help shape this new capability. Here’s how:
- Follow this link to take our Userberry test and share your feedback
- Please use a desktop browser — the survey includes visual elements
- Set aside around 5–10 minutes of your time
Even if this doesn’t fit your role directly, we still welcome your feedback! However, it would be even more valuable if you could share this with colleagues or team members who fit the roles above. That way, we can gather the most accurate insights and build the best solution for everyone 🤝
If you want to talk rate mixing, please join the discussion on the community here. Looking forward to all your responses!

It should also be possible for a guest to book different rates. Example: The guest books a package for 2 nights and would like to book an extra night at a different rate (e.g. overnight stay incl. breakfast). For this, 2 reservations must currently be created. Not practicable and very confusing for the guest with regard to the GuestJourney.

Hello, for us it would be crucial as well. Is there any update? It was announced to be on the roadmap in January. It is June......

As it is mandatory in Austria to register all overnight guests correctly, it is absolutely important for us! The problem should be solved as quickly as possible so that we don't have any problems during an inspection. Especially when renting out apartments, it often happens that the number of guests changes during the stay. Thank you very much!

Jep, Austria here too, we need the opportunity to registrate our guests in different ways. We have apartments, the guest book different here to a hotel with rooms.

We want to be able to modify the rate plan per night within the same reservation, keeping the same reservation ID and without having to check in and check out. Even when changing the room category or room itself, both reservations should remain linked as one. With the current system, we are unable to determine the actual average length of stay of our guests and to keep linked reservations together.

Here are two important, connected points:
Check-out time must be final
As soon as a second reservation is created for the guest, the system should adjust the check-out date accordingly without requiring the guest to be checked out and then checked in again.
Otherwise, this causes issues with arrival and departure control, and it is also problematic for housekeeping, as the guest would incorrectly appear as departed.
Multiple rates must be possibleThe system should allow different rates to be recorded within a single reservation so that, for example, a tour operator rate and a standard rate can be applied in one booking.

This is crucial!!
when making digital keys the guest has to come back to the front office to get new keys, the housekeeping thinks that the room is a departure but it stays more nights. the check out mail is send to the guest.. It is not professional at all.
This really needs to be solved! -

In Austria it is also mandatory to register each guest for the exact number of nights. We need to be able to register the guests with the correct arrival and departure date.

Multiple occupancy for a duration of stay.
Expample: a Guest is staying for 5 nights. The first 3 nights is single occupancy and the last 2 nights are double occupancy. This should then have multiple rates *depending on the Hotel -

It would be nice if one rate change per day is possible in a reservation. Currently you can select one rate in a reservation. If the guest stays for 2 or more nights and the second day has different restrictions than the first, this cannot be changed.
Example: We have a Rate Group/Rate Flexible (CXL 6 pm) and a Rate Group/Rate Semi Flexible (CXL 14 days). The guest arrives 1 day before the trade fair and stays 2 days during the trade fair, I can only select one rate for the entire period. The correct rate would be 1 night Flexible and 2 nights Semi Flexible. The reception must therefore enter 2 reservations.
Another example: Corporate customers receive a contractually agreed fixed rate, but receive a discount of X % during trade fairs. As rates can only be dependent or independent, 2 rates must be created and therefore the reception must create 2 reservations. This is incorrect for CheckIn and CheckOut.

It would be nice, if it was possible to add multiple rate codes in one reservation. For example if there is a reservation for 4 nights. The first and the last night booked at the best available rate, however the second and third night is booked at the corporate's contract rate. Now, we need to make three separate reservations. If it would be possible to add multiple rate codes in a reservation, this would make this much easier.
