  3. The term Last Room Value (LRV), refers to the maximum revenue a hotel can expect to make from the last room it has available for sale. It is used to avoid selling the last room below a certain rate – as when market demand is high the last room may be sold at a higher rate then normal

  4. With the thema Licence plates, the current online Registration cards do not have the option for guests to provide a plate nummber. So even though the guest completes the online check-in they still have to provide this information to the reception

  5. Where one has rates setup and sold inclusive of the the package e.g. Breakfast, @ R1500.00 single or double inclusive of breakfast. In MEWS rate setup it is required to set a negative occupant adjustment for the value of the breakfast in order to correctly quote the rate for the single room booking @ R1500.00

    Where you have derived rates, one normally sets the rate up against the base rate with its relative % adjustment. e.g. -10%, however as the base rate has the negative occupant adjustment for the breakfast to too is discounted on the single rate published. Therefore…

  6. In case there are locked bookings, an overbooking should NOT be possible.
    Means I have 2 reservations, both locked. A new reservation could take place, if these locked reservations are swapped.
    But this can cause trouble.

  7. When a guest cancels a room, all products are removed on the Reservation Report so it is not possible to gauge whether the guest had a product previously. This is problematic if a process needs to be upheld when a product is cancelled (e.g. informing a third party) and it's not clear whether a reservation had the product to begin with.

  8. At the moment CTA restrictions are applied as of check-in time (ie. 3pm 3 days prior to arrival) for channel bookings. However, mews applies this in the distributor as of midnight (ie. 3 days prior to arrival). We would need all channels and the distributor to have the setting applied at the same time (midnight), to avoid parity issues.

  9. Can we please have "Additional Expenses" grouped together the same way Products group on the "Items" tab in the reservation screen. Currently these show line by line and for City Tax for longer stays this creates a massive list. It is then harder to handle as you have cancel them 1 by 1, which then forces the PMS to refresh after each cancellation!
    We have different agreements with OTAs and sometimes the CT is already covered in a different way.
    This would be beneficial for other Expenses introduced in tot he system later on.
    It should be a quick win…

  12. Group summary has poor data. More detailed summary would be perfect for group reservation.

    Extra information:
    -Reservation ID
    -Name per reservation ID
    -Arrival - Departure per reservation ID
    -Conpanion per reservation ID
    -products per reservation ID such as bike rental, extra bed

  13. Problem: booker doesn't receive confirmation/option with guest names

    solution:
    -add guest names to the reservation confirmation/option email.
    -create more specific summary export including rooms, names, reservation ID, arrival, departure

It is sometimes necessary to block more than one room out of order (an entire floor or entire building in the event of large scale refurbishment work, for example) and it would be helpful to be able to place multiple rooms 'out of order' at once if they all should be blocked for the same dates and same reason.

  15. MEWS calculates prices with and without VAT per product and presents them per product on the invoice.

    At the end of the invoice MEWS presents the summary of the prices with and without VAT per VAT.

    On huge invoices the calculated and presented total price without VAT is not the same as the summary of the presented prices without VAT per product due rounding differences.

    Guests/companies/ accounting are complaining about this.

    THEREFORE PLEASE ADJUST and do not present the price per product without VAT per product. (only VAT in %, amount and price with VAT)

  16. Allow admin user to manage, add or remove items in the RESERVATION PORPOUSE LIST field as works for SEGMENTS in order to get a better segmentation and structured data.

  19. The Availability block report (i.e. once exported to Excel) only outlines the blocks that are in place however it would be great to include further details such as how many rooms are held in each block.

  20. Nous avons inclus nos lits supplémentaires dans le système mais pourquoi n'est il pas possible de voir leur disponibilité jour par jour? Nous avons dû créer un Excel pour faire cela et être sûr de ne pas être en surbooking de lit sup. Merci


    We have included our extra beds in the system but why is it not possible to see their availability day by day? We had to create an Excel to do this and be sure not to be overbooked. Thanks
