    Oh, men! I hope we can make you change your mind from unlikely to very likely - ideally to released.
    Let me make an example, as a hostel product we offer late check out. The price for late check out is different for a bed (approx $5) for a room $25 just as an example. As we can not link the product to a room category the guest now sees both options on the booking engine. And guess what - they book the $5 of course and at check-in it needs to be explained to them that they need to pay more if they booked a room. They keep on asking us why they then have the option to book $5 if it's not applicable to them. Well, we need to keep on telling them our system does not allow it to hide it.
    Same as pet fee, if you book a bed in a shared dorm, of course you are not allowed to bring a pet. But the guest has the option on the booking engine to book it and believes is allowed to bring a pet, despite the fact we mentioned it in the notes, but who reads notes..... Thanks for reconsidering.     Hey all,
    we are facing issues with the end of the day time at midnight. Operationally we struggle to reconcile cash postings from the outlets with the export file of BOF as the time is cut at midnight, while the cashier is still operating and the cash is dropped like 4 am in the morning. This means the cash payments reported to the finance system (midnight) and the physical cash drop does not match.
    We tried to change the time with the BOF export file to change to 5am - 5am, but then the product consumption time from MEWS is midnight for Breakfast, which posts that revenue in the wrong day.
    We tried several ways now, but the fact MEWS is considering the day to be closed at midnight has some operational challenges.

    Very good point, a price tag or change track till when the price is valid or might change. Or a list that shows the price changes till the time a price is valid. At the moment we lose control of different pricing, which leads to staff and guest complaints about not presenting the correct price to them.

    It would be great if the OOO handling in MEWS can be optimized at all. For big hotels under refurbishment or during the covid time, we had to make thousands of clicks in the system to set, change, release amend OOO.
    If we could just have a tick box to mark OOO rooms and have the option to mass update them all together. Imagine you have to change one entire floor of OOO due to refurbishment or other maintenance reasons, you need to click in every single OOO to make the changes. This is very time-consuming and frustrating. Not only that you have to click in every reservation, also all future reservations have to be moved from that room. This adds to additional manual work.
    In a nutshell - I wish one of the developers would have to set 100 rooms/beds OOO, then one day later amend them all again, to release them one day later, cause this can be a reality in operations.

    I love the new function to see the mail queue on the profile dashboard. This is amazing, so we can see exactly which communication was sent out for this particular guest.
    After sharing the love and spreading the word about how amazing this new feature is with the teams, we quickly realized it is only available for admins.
    In fact, this is most important for reservations and front desk who would have the guest standing in front of them/have them on the phone and need to have quick access on which booking/cxl confirmation was sent to the guest when.
    If this can be made accessible it will be super helpful for the guest-facing teams. Admins don't deal with that every day - operations do. :-)

    it is important sometimes to send the client a link to only authorize their credit card. For example, if a 3rd party pays for the guest, in this case, we can use their card but we can not charge them upon arrival.
    Old days this was done via sending the client an credit card authorization form, however - this is not PCI compliant. Therefore a solution to replace this credit card authorization form is required.

    it is required to have more flexibility in which data is collected. This should not be a MEWS decision, although I appreciate the legal requirements, every hotelier has different needs for data to be collected during the online check-in / kiosk check-in.

    For the US market, it would be important to add in a relative product (Like a 15% service charge) to a product (e.g. breakfast) to be automatically charged, a product rule would be ideal.
    this would require adding on a relative product via a product rule base on another product.
    When breakfast product is used - add in a service charge of 15%. Hope this makes sense.
