  1. The payment term of stripe is too long, Elavon offers a service of a better quality for cheaper also concerning the bank charges by card. The duration of funds transfer is between one day to two days. Stripe is between 3 days and 7 days of delay. In addition, credit card customer data is not secure at the same level at stripe (Cayman Islands).

    We should have the choice to choose another provider following our place of activity. Currently stripe is the only possible option and the service is not up to the expectations of MEWS customers.

    This status update is part of our ongoing work to simplify and streamline how our UserVoice feedback forum operates.   2. When a guest has multiple stays within a short timeframe, the Departure/Check-out screen displays all open bills associated with the profile. Currently, it is difficult to distinguish between a bill that must be settled now (for the current stay) and a bill belonging to a future reservation.

    To verify this, staff must manually navigate to the guest's profile and check the "Billing" tab. This adds unnecessary clicks and creates a risk of charging guests for future stays prematurely.

    We propose a clear visual indicator or a "Future" label next to bills that are linked to upcoming reservations.

  3. None of our guests can check out online if they booked through booking.com or Airbnb. The Check-Out Site shows our guest, that they still have to pay because the payment is still pending from booking.com or Airbnb. So we have to manually add external payment (wire transfer) for each reservation.

  4. Wenn eine Umbuchung durchgeführt wird, durch die sich der Zahlbetrag ändert, wird derzeit der falsche (ursprüngliche) Betrag abgebucht, da sich die geplante Zahlung nicht automatisch mitändert. Ich fände es gut, wenn die Umbuchung auch ein Storno und eine Neueinbuchung des Zahlbetrags veranlassen würde, da es hier immer wieder zu Unstimmigkeiten kommt. Entweder kommt es zu der Nachricht, dass die Zahlungskarte (gerade bei virtuellen Kreditkarten) nicht belastet werden konnte, weil die Deckung nicht ausreicht, oder ich muss manuell eine zweite Zahlung über den noch fälligen Differenzbetrag machen. Beides löst manuelle Schritte aus, die bei den ganzen Automatisierungen in Mews unnötig sind.

  6. Hallo,

    uns ist aufgefallen, dass die Nettobeträge in der XML Datei von den Beträgen in der PDF Datei abweichen.
    Das kann auch kein Rundungsfehler sein, da die Basis ja die gleiche Datei/ Zahlen sind. Sicherlich ist das auch nicht gesetzeskonform.

    Es wäre grandios, wenn MEWS sich das mal angucken und korrigieren kann.

  8. The 3DS is currently enabled only for reservations made through the Booking Engine and Guest Portal. Ideally, when a guest books through an OTA, the OTA should send the credit card details to Mews, with those details also passing through 3DS for added security. At the moment, they are not as the card issuer bank can choose not to add this security layer.

  9. When the pre-authorization isn't successfull, it is stressfull for our guests to get a payment failure e-mail before their arrival. We would rather solve this with the guests upon check-in. Therefore it would be ideal if we could disable this e-mail from being send, just for the pre-authorization. For other pruposes this settlement failure e-mail is still valuable.

  10. Our guests make a down payment at the moment of booking of 50%, and for the second half of the payment, we have to send out manually a payment link. It would be great if Mews could create a payment llink automaticallly (xx) weeks before arrival of the guests. It would safe a lot of time. following up on this, it would be great if there was the possibility to automatically get a task if the bill is still open 10 days before arrival.

  12. Currently there is this prefix on guests credit card statements: MS*
    The MS stands for Mews Systems.
    The hotel can configure what comes after the prefix (most likely the hotels name).

    This prefix is confusing and from my point of view not necessary. Therefore my strong suggestion is to remove it.

    We are using Mews Pay with Stripe in the background.

Swish is the leading payment method in Sweden used by 80% of the addressable population in both peer-peer payments but also widely used offline in B2C and as digital payment method (offered through partners such as Klarna or Adyen). Swedish hotels that have a large local customer base or for example sell a lot of gift cards would assume Swish is enabled also for Mews Payments.

  16. Currently only the owner of a reservation receives the online check-out email and is the only one that can pay the balance of the reservation before being able to check out. When there are multiple guests that have bills that need to be settled, if they cannot pay their bills online themselves, the group in that room won't be able to check-out online. My suggestion is that all guests in a reservation be able to receive a check-out email and pay for their Bill.

  19. Stripe is providing Chargeback Insurance (at 0.4% of every transaction), would it be possible to have this option at Mews?

  20. Currently preauthorization holds expire after 7 days in Mews but no cancellation of hold is sent to credit card or bank. The credit card or bank determines when the authorization hold is released depending upon their own policies. If the property sends a cancel for preauthorization the system does send the release to the bank. Is there a way that when a guest checks out, Mews can send a cancel to release the preauthorization hold.

    Hi team, if pre-auth is a part of the rate group configuration, we will automatically cancel authorization on Mews' and the bank's side 24h after the guest departs.

    However, due to other priorities, we did not work on the automatic cancellation of all pre-auths in all flows after departure, adding this initiative back on the backlog.
