  1. We're currently able to sell additional bookable services to guests if they elect to use the online check-in module (using the "Service promotions" feature), however we can't offer these same services to guests if they elect to use the Kiosk check-in module. This makes no sense. We would suggest adding a "During Kiosk check-in” check-box option in Service promotions > Promotion settings > Offer to customer* to supplement the current “In booking engine” and “During online check-in” options that are already offered.

  2. The "Anything to add from the minibar” section that is presented by default during ALL Kiosk check-outs should be an optional setting! Many hotels / hostels / other accommodation providers do not have minibars, so forcing guests to navigate through this logic is confusing and clunky.

  3. Current Rate Comparison Box in the Booking Engine does not pull data from the OTA's URL leaving room for human error especially when accounting for complex promotions and rate parity from the OTA's website.

    If one is to use it properly, they must post a percentage adjustment in the "Competitor price relative adjustment" field to display the difference in prices.

    Using the OTA URL, this should be able to complete the info in the box therefore push for more direct bookings.

  6. We'd like to adopt the 'soft opt-in' marketing model whereby bookers are automatically subscribed to our marketing database unless they specifically opt-out at the point of booking. This would require the current wording to be changed (ideally editable by us), and the checkbox to be ticked as default (or change to tick to opt-out).

  8. There is currently no double authentication on the Mews booking engine. If a customer makes a mistake with their email address when booking, they will not receive any of the scheduled messages.

    This can cause confusion and doubts as to whether a booking has actually been made.

    This is a very common feature.

    I suggest integrating double authentication (twice the email address) at the end of the booking process on the booking engine.

  9. We are struggling with late check in after the front desk staff has gone home.

    for example, a person books 21:00 arrives 23:00 but the front desk went home 20:00.

    The guest got assigned to a dirty room and the kiosk lets the person check in.
    Would like MEWS to assign the guest to inspected rooms first. And stop the guest to check in to a dirty room.

  10. We are experiencing difficulties in implementing the upgrade function in the Mews Kiosk because the pricing becomes incorrect. For example, a guest books a Standard Room for 100 EUR when the room pricing is low. Upon arrival, the daily rate has increased to 160 EUR. The price difference to the next room category is 20 EUR. If the guest had gone to the reception, they would have been offered an upgrade for the difference of 20 EUR. However, in the Mews Kiosk, the guest is offered an upgrade for the difference between the confirmed price at the time of booking…

  11. Isolating the digital signature functionality and enabling it to operate as a standalone feature would be ideal for check-ins handled by reception staff. This way, we can avoid using paper registration cards and simply use a tablet instead.

  13. Many guests need a little more than a minute + 30 seconds 'are you still there' - countdown' to understand the Kiosk check-in and provide all necessary data, maybe chat with staff during the process. An extended time would lead to less Kiosk check-ins having to be re-done unnecessarily.

  15. When a guest enters their preferred email address during online check-in, if that email address is already assigned to an existing profile, Mews does not merge the profiles, but instead adds the email address to the profile that is performing online check-in, so that staff can choose to merge them later.

    It would be really useful it Mews could automatically create a task when this happens so that staff can be alerted to there being potentially mergeable profiles.

  16. A useful feature would be to incorporate a simple AI tool that proposes alternative available rooms to guests, allowing them to switch if their preferred room isn’t available for the entire stay.

  17. The design of the booking engine in MEWS feels somewhat outdated, and it would be great if the MEWS design team could suggest a more modern appearance. It’s a shame that the hotel’s logo at the top left is so small.

  18. We have a bookable service for beach chairs. When guest book this throughout their stay it creates an entirely new booking which influences our repeat business reporting and the guest profile stats on how frequently the guest has stayed.

  19. When the space categories are displayed in the second step of the booking engine, it can be confusing for the guest/booker to see conflicting booking term labels. If there are different rates available, e.g. one with free cancellation and another one that is non-refundable, both of these labels (free cancellation and non-refundable) are shown before the Show rates button is clicked.

    This might create the idea that both are applicable for all the rates displayed at the next step, even if the rates are correctly labeled.

  20. Hello,

    We would like to offer space upgrade during the online check in but the current feature is missing a few options in our opinion:

    • We cannot be notified when a guest upgrades their room during the online check in
    • Upgrades are hard to track and they do not appear on the planning (contrary to manual upgrades) .
    • No report can indicate the additional revenue that we generated that way
    • We would like to be able to put a time limit on upgrade availability (for example, no upgrades past 3PM the day of) as to not impact housekeeping planning too…
