Rate Mixing
The system should be able to propose the cheapest rate possible to our guests (like booking.com does). Mixing the rates to offer the best deal is a guarantee to compete better against booking.com. Not mixing the rates allows booking.com to steal bookings from us. Exemple: you activate a Last Minute deal on the next 48h. A guest want to arrive today and stay for 3 days. On booking.com, he will see a rate mixed from the last minute rate (for the 2 first nights) and from another rate for the 3d night. On our booking engine, you will see either no rate at all either a rate that is more expensive than the mix of the last minute rate + another one.
Hey community!
We've made some exciting progress in how we're thinking about introducing multiple rates within a single reservation, and we need your help!
We’d love to understand your expectations regarding the behavior around rate mixing. Right now, we’re especially looking for insights from two key roles:
- Reservation managers / front desk staff who handle reservations daily
- Revenue managers
If this sounds like you, you're the perfect person to help shape this new capability. Here’s how:
- Follow this link to take our Userberry test and share your feedback
- Please use a desktop browser — the survey includes visual elements
- Set aside around 5–10 minutes of your time
Even if this doesn’t fit your role directly, we still welcome your feedback! However, it would be even more valuable if you could share this with colleagues or team members who fit the roles above. That way, we can gather the most accurate insights and build the best solution for everyone 🤝
If you want to talk rate mixing, please join the discussion on the community here. Looking forward to all your responses!

FULLY AGREE. How much longer do you want to vote on this idea? It would be really a great relief to get this thing rolling. My earlier comments on this issue apparently disappeared?!

Totally agree - it causes issues for every department not being able to apply separate rates to separate nights under one booking.
We host weddings - where a guest may be a general residential guest one night and then a wedding guest on the second. The rates all have different payment and settlement rules, so they must be picked up as individual bookings rather than amending the price.
It causes issues for housekeeping, reception, sales, revenue management - pretty much everyone! -

This is very important planning wise for the housekeeping as well!
The housekeeping sees 25 departures and 25 arrivals while they could be stayovers.

As much as I appreciate Mews by now, other programs do it better.
So yes, it would be very helpful. -

When we have a 2=3 offer and the guest stay longuer we need to do another reservation for the 4th night

Very helpful also with event rates if guests arrive before or stay after a trade fair. The tedious work around with extended event rates and BARrate availability at the same time is nothing but additional complexity and a pricing disadvantage vs. OTS etc.

In Italy it is mandatory (required by law) to properly register each guest for the exact number of nights and with the correct arrival and departure date! It is also necessary to better manage charges from "item" in reservations with guests arriving/departing on different dates - without having to use charges from "bill" that do not appear on reports (e.g. breakfasts)

We have a Feratel integration (registration) and urgently need the possibility to report additional guests to the municipality.
Therefore, an adjustment of the overnight guests should be possible from day to day. -

Would be great to have an easy way to distinguish for housekeeping that the guest has a 2nd reservation staying in the same room, currently it is a manual process.

I do agree with Philippe. It is very important in order to be aligned with other host reservation rates.

Interesting: it would be helpful to have an automatic detection of this kind of things, like a notification warning us that a reservation has been made with a similar name a day before or after.

We need to have the capability to have multiple rates to a reservation. Example, a weekday guest may book a BAR rate but wants to book a special promo rate on the weekend. Currently, the solution is to book two separate reservations or extend the existing reservation and make manual adjustments on specific days. This is a manual process and would like to see this automated.

sometimes we need to split the nightly rate as guests may wish to part-pay the amount (i.e. company pays for most of it, but guest pays for supplement).
currently you are only able to do this in advance by posting the supplement separately.
it would be handy if in retrospect you are able to split the nightly rate for some or all nights and allocate it to a new bill -

Sometimes clients book 2 consecutive nights through 2 different means. It would help the communication with housekeeping if the reception was able to "link" the 2 reservations together so it is clear that the same person stays in the room. Additionally, it would be helpful to have an automatic detection of this kind of things, like a notification warning us that a reservation has been made with a similar name a day before or after.

we sometimes have guest who extend an existing booking. where their company was paying for the invoice and thus on a company rate, the extension would be for the guest and on a different rate.
currently we need to make a new booking, which is confusing for several departments like housekeeping but also effects our statistics for length of stay.
any chance we could manage this by adding a different rate for a specific time period.
please note, it is not feasible to change the rate on the day as this might get missed and thus creating errors
