  1. At the moment the restriction settings in MEWS are very complicated and extensive. When we try to close multiple rates that are within different Rate Groups (due to the settlement required) we have to close all rates individually. Our idea is to create Rate Buckets where you can add rates manually that only apply to restriction. This way, you can apply all restrictions on these Rate Buckets instead of on rate group or individual rates.

    Furthermore, it would be perfect if you can apply restrictions based on occupancy %. I.e. if hotel is 60% booked, I want to close all…

  2. The old occupancy report is still available but not the previous availability report.

    We used this report daily to modify the distribution between room types (mainly for internet channels to increase available single rooms and decrease double). It was easy to read, to modify and with a clear view on several future days.

    The new report doesn’t give a direct view on number of rooms available for each room category. The table is also less convenient when it comes to change these rooms allocations (several sub-menus whereas the access was easier before).

    Thank you for sharing your feedback with us regarding the new availability and occupancy report.

    We currently provide the option to swap back to the old Availability and Occupancy report, by selecting the button on the top right hand side of the new report labelled "Old Occupancy report. Selecting this button will switch you back to the old Occupancy report as requested. Once you are able to view the old Occupancy report, select the Availability under “Mode” filter.

    We have updated your request title to solve for comparing availability by room type over a long period. This request has been updated as one to be upvoted by the Mews Community.

  3. Currently the bill format is not ideal if you want to send it via post and especially companies complain about the format. The bill is built up with container blocks as it seems, therefore it would be amazing if you could select between different templates.
    Happy to provide an example bill from our CRM, which could be used as a potential template.

  4. To reinstate future bookings that were canceled (or marked as a no-show) up to one day after the original check-in date. This feature will simplify the procedure of amending booking that were not meant to be canceled. It will boost efficiency since clicking on a reinstate button, it is easier than creating a new booking.

  5. It is sometimes necessary to block more than one room out of order (an entire floor or entire building in the event of large scale refurbishment work, for example) and it would be helpful to be able to place multiple rooms 'out of order' at once if they all should be blocked for the same dates and same reason.

  6. What we would like is to be able to change the PAX on a nightly basis.

    E.g.
    "Guest A" has reserved a room for 5 nights. On night 1,2,3 Guest A stays in the room alone. Night 4 & 5 "Guest B" will join "Guest A" in the same room.

    As for now we have no possibility to change the amount adults/children since there's already products that has been consumed previous nights. (breakfast --> via product rule)
    This makes our safety list, and other reports show the wrong amount of overnight guests and products.

  7. Possibility to add notes without changing the room status is missing and necessary.

    P.a. if DND (do not disturb) or white card (when guest changes cleaning against free drink at bar) housekeeping needs to add the note to the status "dirty".

    At the moment you can only add notes when the status is changed.

  8. Sometimes a guest messages us on the MEWS platform, and then calls and we are able to answer their enquiry over the phone.
    I would then like to be able to mark their message as completed without the guest having to see. This way the next person on front desk will not come along and think that the enquiry still needs to be answered.

  9. The room number tab column in the rooming list should be customisable as we have many operational issues with the room numbers appearing on it and clients expecting to have those rooms when they check in. We should be able to remove this column if not relevant.

  10. There should be a possibilty to round up rates as customors wish. As per example here in Switzerland the smallest coin is CHF 0.05. Some prices, e.g. set up with a percentage off the base rate, are shown as CHF 181.07

  11. For every reservation that is on timeline, it would be nice if there was some form of a payment status descriptor so that our front desk staff can visually recognize which reservations have fully paid and which haven’t.

    For example:
    A fully paid reservation could have a “green” dot
    An unpaid booking could have a “red” dot
    A failed transaction could have a “black “ dot

    At this moment we have to manually enter the reservation and go to the payments tab to check if the reservation is fully paid or not. This takes time for each booking and is…

  12. We can´t define a specific accounting category for canceled items for deposits or hardcoded city tax. The accounting category is taken from the Canceled item accounting category defined in the Bookable service. But deposits and city taxes are usually having different accounting categories than nights.

  13. It would be great to be able to choose consumption date and time when setting product rules - For example If the product should be added on arrival date or in the night.

    When you have a package that includes dinner at the arrival date it's not optimal to have the consumption date, by defualt set as the day after if the product is added through a product rule.

    As it is now this affects the product reports in a negative way.

  14. At the moment an invoice can only be sent to customer email address. Sometimes companies request the invoice to be sent to booker and finance department. We need ability to cc more email addresses when invoice is sent.

  15. We need to be able to create multiple confirmations regarding, example: a confirmation for group reservations with other conditions than a reservation for only one room. This is a highly requested feature for the ability to send correct conditions regarding the reservations!

  17. When a guest books either online using the Mews booking engine or a reservation agent books directly into Mews, the Blacklist in the Profile does not prevent the booking or blocks the guest from booking. It would be good if a guest is blacklisted to prevent the booking and display a banner or a message to the guest to contact the hotel directly. Currently, there is nothing that prevents the booking for occurring other than to see the icon which is very small.

  18. Dear colleagues,

    At this moment we can assign employees to the room but we can not cancel, it is only possible to override.

    It generous few problems:
    - in the next day room is still assigned to the same employee, a filter of the unassigned room is useless
    - everyday assignments must be made very carefully, checking when the room has been assigned, yesterday or today
    - it is not possible to make a report of an assigned room from the past, the system shows the only current assigned

  19. Could be great to select more than one space category when you put on a restriction for a specific rate code. At the moment I close every space individually. And I have a lot of rates that should have closed out specific spaces.

Guest Credit Limit report to mitigate the risk of potential for bad debt write offs in the event of a client dispute and of being unable to recover monies owing, resulting in bad debt write-offs. Allows for a a daily review and follow up with guests when balance above hotel's limit. Ensure no guest ledger folios with cash status and debit balance outstanding.
