Undo booking cancellation
Once a reservation is canceled in Mews, unfortunately it must be recreated in case a guest decides they would like to stay. This can be inconvenient in case of no shows that must come the next day or reservations that may have been canceled accidentally. An additional feature to reinstate canceled bookings could help simplify these occasions as all booking details could be preserved and records would be unified.
Hi Everyone,
Thank you for your valuable insights on this topic. I am happy to inform you that this feature is now live and ready to use for all* users.
*Please note that France and Guadeloupe will be soon be given access to this feature as well, whereas development is still ongoing to serve your legal requirements.
More information can be found in this release note.
To add, soon restored canceled reservations will as well be shown in reporting, in order to give you a clear insight.
Warmest regards,
Nienke

We would like to have the option to reactivate cancelled rooms.
Sometimes it's just a mistake and it's very laborious to make a new reservation.
Or a guest is calling 2 minutes later because he changed his opinion. -

We're totally missing the option of reinstating a cancelled reservation.
Sometimes a guest will call to cancel and then a few hours later change their minds. Instead of having to make a brand new reservation. -

I would save time to be able to reinstate a cancelled booking.

It would help us a lot if you can reactivate the cancelled booking, also cancelled options.

It would be very useful to have an option to reinstate cancelled bookings in MEWS PMS. It saves time entering new bookings and final bill looks cleaner and more professional, because corrections on the bill don't look to professional.

Hey Mewsie-Pewsie,
Time to make it happen now.
'cause since a while, Mews now automatically cancels, non paid (NonRef) distributor bookings. Which is great!!! Saves so much time!
But it happened -with us- already a few times that guest still wanted to book and pay. And then guest have to re-book, or even worse: We have to do it for them!
(No, I'm not lazy, I just don't want to do it ;-)
PS. Last time I commented on this one was 01-07-22, then only 112 people upvoted.... Now 768... And counting....

it would be nice to be able to switch between status confirmed and optional.
To edit a proforma, we need the status confirmed but for us, a reservation is considered as confirmed if we have deposit or guarantee. -

How many voices does an idea need to be implemented?
-
Nabeel commented
This idea should be implemented as it is the most voted idea on the feedback page and is a basic feature of a PMS.

I can´t understand how something so important hasn´t been implanted after 2 years of comments and 599 votes. It´s something completly neccesary for our daily work.

I cannot imagine that until now only 112 people voted for this....
If I'm not mistaking this was one of the first request features far before 2021

Yes please. It is quite useful to an option set-up for reinstating reservations which were cancelled or no-show.
