Restrict Products
There are other suggestions about restricting products, but would also be good to restrict products by Room category, and rates/ packages/ dates
For example -
1 offer a cot to rooms that can only accommodate cots and not to all rooms
2 offer pet products to rooms that can accommodate a cot and not to all rooms
3 only offer a product on specific dates, rather than all, or seasonally within a certain date range - Strawberries in Summer
4 by package type, if a rate includes a product you wont necessarily want to add again

This is so important for us. Espacially with some packages, rates where we don't want to offer certain products!

There should be a function that allows certain products to be booked only for specific rooms. For example, the item "Bring your dog" should only be available for rooms where dogs are actually allowed. Or, for a category that always includes breakfast by default, this option should not be available at all.

This is huge for us. Our suite already includes a microwave and fan. It is an option for other room types.
This is confusing for a guest when they are reserving the suite, as they think they must request a microwave in their room separately, even though there is one in the pictures and description of the room. -

I agree - for instance we cannot offer certain breakfast products on the week ends but have not means of setting it up correctly in Mews. Like on Booking com, you can click on which days of the week breakfast (as example) can be available. Why not set it up like this in Mews as well?

I would absolutely use this! I have rooms with and without mini fridges. I would love to be able to upsell cheese boards to rooms with fridges but I wouldn't want a guest who is in a room without one to be able to order that. I hope you reconsider!

Agreed with this idea and all related comments below.
A similar case for our company (EVT) who has some hostels. Just as one of a random example, we wish to offer guests the possibility to hire towels, when staying in PODS however this is already included in Ensuite Rooms. Having this add-on enabled is therefore creating some confusion as the product appears for ALL reservations. Hence we had to turn this off, along with others products - due to the same logic - and are missing on some great opportunities to generate revenue because of this. -

Oh, men! I hope we can make you change your mind from unlikely to very likely - ideally to released.
Let me make an example, as a hostel product we offer late check out. The price for late check out is different for a bed (approx $5) for a room $25 just as an example. As we can not link the product to a room category the guest now sees both options on the booking engine. And guess what - they book the $5 of course and at check-in it needs to be explained to them that they need to pay more if they booked a room. They keep on asking us why they then have the option to book $5 if it's not applicable to them. Well, we need to keep on telling them our system does not allow it to hide it.
Same as pet fee, if you book a bed in a shared dorm, of course you are not allowed to bring a pet. But the guest has the option on the booking engine to book it and believes is allowed to bring a pet, despite the fact we mentioned it in the notes, but who reads notes..... Thanks for reconsidering. Super important. Currently we sell products online with a note that they only apply to certain room types, guests in the incorrect room types constantly add these. Particularly in properties who sell rooms and beds.

Agree! We have a huge issue with selling products online which only apply to a certain space category. Often we then need to reverse charges to correct. It is really important that we can offer certain products to certain space categories.

I have the same issue. There should be an option to restrict products for specific categories ( in my case just for apartments, but not for rooms) and to offer this in the MEWS booking engine when the category is selected.

Hi all, I really do not understand why this feature does not exist in MEWS. I'm quite happy but this is a true disadvantage. I also want to allow certain room categories for bringing dogs. The only thing I can realize this is setting up dog rates. But besides my BAR and normal restricted rates this leads to an inflation of rates, e.g. in distributor. Please have this feature realized as soon as possible. Thanks

It would be very handy to be able to assign a certain product to a room category.
For example, we have a room category that is dog-friendly and we charge a one off fee. I want the guests to have the option to select the product when making a booking but also restrict them from booking it in another room category. -

Or specific rate of course... a breakfast included rate should not propose the product "breakfast".
