  3. Slowly the Chinese market is getting bigger and bigger for Dutch hotels. Not only in Amsterdam, but everywhere in the Netherlands. The most used payment solution are Wechatpay and Alipay. This will bring a great improvement in the guest experience.

  4. Many properties prefer to take payment card details at check-in but to then charge all accommodation fees at the time of checkout. Therefore, it is very important that these card details are accurately and securely stored. With the capability to automatically transfer card details to customer profile, properties can help reduce human error and also ensure that guests feel their information is protected.

    Hi all,

    Thanks to the current feedback, we decided to move back this idea to be upvoted.

    We did release Mews Terminals, however, due to security reasons, we will not store that card for future use.

    Most of the upvotes mentioned that they’d like that functionality – even though the current Mews terminal is a huge step towards automation – providing the possibility to charge or pre-authorize a card without the need to ask a guest to give you card details & where you’d need to type in manually back information to Mews…

    Looking forward to hearing more about this!

Whilst its 'controlled' in the booking flow that a guest cannot complete the reservation without ticking the acceptance box for T&Cs, when it comes to defending a chargeback it supports a stronger counter-challenge if we have the ability to send a screenshot of the reservation summary with the datapoint captured that the T&Cs were accepted and timestamped.

  10. SOFORT is a common payment method that arranges the transaction between you and your customer. Very popular in Germany, but also in other countries across Europe. Let us know if you're interested in having this payment method directly integrated into Mews Payments.

  11. Allow guests to spread payments using ClearPay & Klarna when making bookings via the distributor.

    Millions of people in the UK alone use ClearPay & Klarna to spread payments over a number of months.

    It would make Mews seem on-trend with consumer trends.

  12. For chains, it is helpful that customer profiles are shared between properties, however some of that data is not always included. Payment card information would be especially helpful to include in shared profiles, as it will keep records more complete and prevent properties for asking guests each time.

  13. Improvement flow request:

    Current payment automation is still being triggered at the customer profile and does not make any distinction if there is a routing rule in place or if the bill will be owned by a different customer or company.

    This can cause the wrong profile to be charged or the wrong amount due to be displayed (kiosk) because payment will sit in the Unpaid Items/Deposits section first.

  15. At times we have reservations from where at the moment of booking the credit card is valid, however it expires prior of their arrival.
    We cannot accept reservations with an expired credit card since we then cannot collect payment. For security reasons we also do not prefer to take cc over the phone or by email. Is there is a way that the guest can get a notification that when they book their stay with us, the credit card will expire prior of arrival and to use a different card.

  16. Billing in Mews only enables properties to split items between multiple guests but it doesn't allow properties to split 1 item beteen multiple guests.

    If 2 guests want to split the cost of e.g. 1 night, Mews doesn't support issuing 2 invoices to both guests for this night.

    Improve splitting items so that each guest can receive a an invoice if they want to split e.g. 1 night between multiple guests.

    I`d love to have an option to split a payment.

    For example if a guest has an invoice for room and breakfast and needs those items on different bills.

    Currently you can only do a refund and charge again or enable manual payments.
    As manual payments are quite prone to errors we rather do not want to rely on them

  18. When a payment link has expired, we would like to have the availability to resend the payment link or extend the deadline without having to remake the entire link. This would make it easier when a guest forgets to pay by the expiry date.

    If we could extend the deadline, it would be ideal if the guest would receive an update of this as well.

  19. When a guest enters new credit card details (for example because we couldn't charge their credit card and asked them to provide another one), it would be helpful if MEWS gave us a notification. We now manually have to check if new details were entered.

  20. Once a guest has checked out of your hotel could we have an automated email sent to the guest with an invoice? Could the invoice be sent in PDF or at least have the option of the sending format? We currently have so many calls from guests requesting Invoices.
