Distinguish Manual (Terminal) payments from Merchant
Currently, only online payments should marked in Mews with a badge, however for properties that prefer manual terminal payments, it seems that any payments with a matching identifier appear in a confusing way, as they are then marked with a badge. For this reason, it could be very beneficial to create a more noticeable way to distinguish these two types of payment in Mews.

Hello from the Mews product team,
Now we allow properties to distinguish the identifier and input any numbers you'd like to, but unfortunately this request has not received the necessary upvotes to be added to the Mews development roadmap and is unlikely to be delivered
Thank you for sharing your suggestions,
Jovana

A hotel should be able to choose by default if it prefers to use merchant or terminal payments. In case of merchant, there is the button of charge and close, so in reality, merchant choice would even not be necessary

It would be nice if we had and option to set terminal payment as the main option, not Merchant. Sometimes we charge the guest twice, because we charge him on terminal, but then we accidentally use the Merchant option in Mews as it is the main one.

We have the same problem, with the new screen.

The credit card payment screen has tabs to select Merchant or Terminal. Our reception team make the error quite frequently, and use the Merchant screen instead of the Terminal screen to enter a guest payment. In these situations we are then charging the guest twice!
When these screens were on the same page, the error did not occur as it was clearly Merchant on the left and Terminal on the right. The old format reduced a lot of the problems we are now facing so request the change back.
