Make Legionella more flexible to cover more use cases
Mews has a legionella prevention function. It automatically puts vacant rooms into dirty status after 7 days of being vacant. However, our Housekeeping and Maintenance system have a likewise function, which is way more operatable. Because I can adjust settings: I can choose the amount of days, type of notifications and to whom, etc. And, it belongs to those departments that do the legionella prevention. Mews just puts the rooms on dirty status and I have to go all the way into the history log of each individual dirty room to find out why it was put dirty; there's no automatic notifications or reports possible. Neither can I change the amount of vacant days or even switch off the function. And because my Housekeeping system prefers not to work with a two-faced-integration, I have discrepancies... So, very much not workable. Like Mews normally does, let the cobbler stick to his last.

In Norway, there is no requirement to mark a room or unit as dirty due to legionella after 7 days. This is because it is standard to have hot water tanks operating above 70°C, which prevents the development of legionella.
We would like the status of a unit to change from Inspected to Clean after 14 days, and not switch to Dirty at all.
As an interim solution, it would be acceptable to receive a list of units that are scheduled to change their status from Inspected/Clean to Dirty (legionella) the following day, so that we can manually extend the current status for another week if needed.

Indeed! Please make it possible to adjust the days trigger for Legionella. We need this setting to be at 3 days.
Please also see my idea to prevent legionella by a room allocation strategy based on longest vacancy:

The current functionality of the dirty (legionella) status is linked to the status of a room: if it's in clean or inspected for 7 days it switches to status dirty ( legionella). If the setting of rooms is: change status to dirty on check-out, then it is possible that if a check-in ( but not check-out) occurs somewhere within the 7 day window, the status of the room during the occupancy changes to dirty( legionella). This is incorrect. As the room is occupied the room should not go to legionella status, as it is used.

Would it be possible to change the offset for the Legionella status from 7 to 5 days?
Bureau de Wit writes that a report must be made within 5 or 6 days so that flushing can be carried out early and at the latest within 7 days.
This is required by law in accordance with - NEN 1006+A1:2018. This is the same for every hotel in the Netherlands. So automatically a notification after 5 or 6 days. Then you still have time to rinse in time.

It would be great to see this on the Timeline, Space Status Report or Space Status Dashboard without having to Export the Report. To see the status you actually have to go into the specific room action log. However, you may have one or many and accidently assign these rooms to room attendant without knowing they are not a full clean but rather a Legionella protocol room. We need to see this more easily since some properties are not using the App or have access to Mews. Housekeeping Managers and Supervisors need to be able to see this when assigning rooms.

I feel that this function is helpful to some properties. I think that rather than asking to have the function removed. I think you should ask for an option to turn it off on a per property basis.

Agree, during the actual situation we also struggle with the pre-defined setup within MEWS. We would like to decide ourselves how many days the room should change the status. Or we would like to have the possibility to switch that function of entirely for the hotels which are working with HSK tools.

Get a notification the day (or even better the day before) when a room becomes dirty due to legionella
