Property Operations and PMS: this is the forum for posting your ideas and comments on all aspects of hotel operations, from reservations to events to metrics and reports. You'll find a category here for each of the major topics in property management, and if you can't find the right category, please search or post to the Other category. Where we can, we'll move ideas around to group them as intuitively as possible for the product managers working on the PMS.

Please keep in mind that there is a separate forum for topics specific to the operations of hotel chains and groups. Go to the Multi-property management forum for anything about portfolio management or rate, product, package and restriction functionality across multiple properties.

  1. It would be great if you had the option to not only update a task when opening it, but also to close it from that same window. Now you need to update it, close the task and then only are you able to complete it from the list (task list or within the reservation).
    would save time if you had that close button within the task (so both update and complete/close)

  2. Ensure that the items for each stay are assigned to an individual bill. It is confusing, if there are different stays and prepayments displayed on one bill and extra work is needed to separate them for check-out.

  3. It would be nice to have a feature in Mews so that I can upload our company logo so that it appears on our Mews terminal screen and receipts.

  4. Is it possible to create push notifications for check-in? That when the room is checked in, a message for the staff member appears on the display.

  5. Currently to check in a guest, You have to navigate too many screens between payment, guest info, and check in. Instead when you click check in, MEWS should automatically prompt the guest info then payment instead of having to navigate multiple tabs.

  6. Currently daily rate is not amendable once the bookings are created, with a status OPTION (not confirmed). We used to have it but not anymore.
    Also, we can never change room allocation if the booking is an option.

  7. It would be useful to add more conditions to product rules; e.g., comments -- this would allow to create product rules based on matching words in the reservation comments.

  8. Add a timeline/calendar where each department could log their rota to facilitate communication between teams and easily visualise who is working in each department at any given time.

  9. The Price Overwrite Periods of the rates should be longer, than 12 months.
    When a company contract is valid for 15 months it needs a extra adaption. This should be possible to create it once.

  10. the update overview on Mews is great, but could it please be possible to add a delete button once you have read the update. that way you know exactly which ones you still need to familiarise yourself with and don't end up with a list 500km long!

  12. Being able to apply discounts on the fly from the New Reservation Screen with different rates based on the service. Example: 15% on Accommodation, 5% on F&B ... Revenues need to be reflected accordingly per Accounting category.

  13. cxl fee for 1 night maximum it should take the products just for one night not for all the nights

  14. it would be good if you could update a task and re-instate it once closed. sometimes tasks have been closed but become relevant again at a later date and this would prevent having to create a new one, plus with updating the task description you have a better overview and history of what has happened with that particular booking in one click.

  15. The new layout with boxes and not lines to write on is very disturbing for the eye. Mostly when checking the customer profile, but in general too. Please bring back the simple line. More elegant AND non the less way more eye-friendly!

  16. If i am making a task i always have to manually add a assigned space in the task because now only the reservation name and period is visable (to avoid going back to the reservation and start the task all over again)

  18. would it be possible to make the room number guests are allocated to or have stayed in more prominent on the overview and dashboard.
    also, it is very annoying you are not able to see the full name. perhaps move the three icons on the right corner further down?

  20. L'écran "aperçu des réservations" montre les arrivées en commençant par les prénoms et non les noms. Ceci serait plus simple d'avoir les noms des clients EN ENTIER, même sans le prénom!

    The "Reservation overview" screen shows arrivals starting with first names and not last names. It would be easier to have the names of the clients IN FULL, even without the first name!
