1. Change access and client token names to clearer-sounding ones

   "Access token," and "Client token" sound confusing to me.

   I propose changing these names to "Specific token" and "Global token" respectively.

2. Make reservation(s) optional

   There's currently no way to change a reservation's status to "Optional" using the API. There are individual endpoints for confirming and canceling a reservation, but no endpoint for making one optional. A specific endpoint, or an extension to the [PlatformAddress]/api/connector/v1/reservations/update that allows for modifying the reservation state would be great!

   Why? We allow our users to create "Enquired" reservations but they now have no way to make those reservations "Optional" (from our system)

3. Batch update reservation customer

   Currently the [PlatformAddress]/api/connector/v1/reservations/updateCustomer endpoint only accepts a single ReservationId

   If it could accept an array of ReservationIds this would allow us to perform batch updates of customers on a selection of reservations in a single API request as opposed to many repeated requests.

6. Salto - encode second room to be opened by the card in field 4 of key creation command

   In the current Salto integration with Mews, Mews only sends one room number/lock id to be encoded in Salto. This presents an operational challenge for properties that have the following room structure:

   6228 - main suite (parent space)
   230 - private room for 2 persons (child space)
   228 - dorm room with 4 beds (child space with 4 additional child spaces nested)
   228-1,2,3,4 - four separate dorm beds

   230 and 228 can be sold separately, as is any of the four beds. A party of 6 can also book the entire suite 6228.

   In the latter case, a key card encoded for all 6 guests with a reservation occupying 6228 should include access to both 230 and 228.

   In Salto, it is currently not possible to manage mapping 6228 with clients 228 and 230 (i.e. key card encoded for 6228 automatically comes with access to the two child spaces).

   It is recommended that Mews extends key creation message to include "Second room to be opened by the card." in Field 4 described in the table under the section "Command ‘CN’: encode a new guest card." as found in the SALTO Industry Standad PMS Protocol documentation

7. Key cutter mapping - current way is time consuming

   Currently, a user who is setting up the key cutter will need to manually map individual spaces if their space numbering format is different from that in their key cutter software.

   This can be very manual and error prone as it involves several clicks and manual typing in of door lock numbers in the key cutter software into Mews. This cannot be done in batch currently.

   One suggestion would be to have a downloadable excel file with all space numbers in Mews, the user then downloads the file adds the corresponding door lock ids from their key cutter system. Then they would upload it back into Mews.

   Often times, a user can already generate an excel list of door lock ids from their key cutter system, so this would cut down on a lot of manual work and prevent errors.

   This would especially save time for larger properties with many spaces.

10. Accounting Item - Reservation relationship

    You have an API endpoint https://mews-systems.gitbook.io/connector-api/operations/finance#get-all-accounting-items

    Returned Accounting Item data has OrderId field:

    Unique identifier of the order (or Reservation which is a special type of order) the item belongs to.

    Can you add ReservationId field into Accounting Item?

    The problem is that we can't know if an accounting item belongs to any specific reservation or not.

    I tried to collect unique OrderId values from the list of accounting items and next fetch reservations with ReservationIds filter (to see if we have a reservation with Id same as OrderId), but if I pass non-reservation ID - I see the error "Invalid ReservationIds". So, this will not work.

    It's the problem for our app because we need to understand if an accounting item belongs to a specific reservation or not.

    Adding ReservationId field into Accounting item will solve this issue: if ReservationId is empty - the item belongs to order.

    Otherwise, ReservationId has Id of reservation ( ReservationId equals to Orderid).

11. Export Customer profiles by company

    It would be very useful if we were able to export to Excel the customer profiles (filtered by company name). The goal is to have a clean data base for emailing segmentation.

    We can add the company in the profile but there is no use behind this.

13. Create/Edit Vouchers and Voucher Codes via API

    Adding functionatlity to create/edit vouchers and their codes would be useful for a number of use cases.

    Firstly in my opinion the Mews process for creating this is a little clunky, especially if you want to track the usage of each VC as it needs to be it's own Voucher, there's no way to track the codes within that voucher.

    Therefore lets say you have a staff friends & family rate, and you want the voucher code to be the employee name so you can track usage and abuse of the incentive.

    Creating additional codes for an already created voucher is one thing but as I said above you can't track individual codes. For this reason you need to create a new voucher. Now imagine you want this code to work across all your properties and you have a large portfolio, you have to create the voucher/code within each property. Lets say you have 100 employees across 10 properties (arbitrary numbers) this means the creation of a total of 1,000 vouchers in total, in order to be able to track them. Now amplify that to 1000 employees across 50 businesses... For each new employee, for their unique code to work you'd need to create 50 vouchers, one for each property.

    Doing this via an integration would be so much quicker.

    Other use cases are marketing campaigns where you want a unique voucher per campaign to track the ROI of each.

    Adding functionatlity to create/edit vouchers and their codes would be useful for a number of use cases.

15. Currency select should be change automatically

    Price shown on Booking engine is always in Euro first.
    This is not convenient for guests who book outside euro countries.
    If guests select their language then rates change in their selected currency automatically.
    It is so much easier for them to understand the price.

16. Encode GuestID on Electronic KeyCard

    If the GuestID can be written on the RFID in Sector2 of the Onity KeyCard System, Guests can authenticate at the POS for placing F&B orders on the room bill.

    In this case there's no more need to write down the guest's name, only the key card is needed. The key card is read by an RFID reader coupled to the POS. The guestID is used to authenticate the guest and post the bill to Mews calling the API's. Supplementary the guest's last name can be checked to engage two-factor-authentication.

20. Telefoon/adressenboek voor personeel

    Wij hebben in het verleden met een systeem gewerkt waarbij de mogelijkheid was om gebruik te maken van een telefoonboek waar alle gegevens van het personeel in stond. Wij vonden het zeer prettig om hier mee te werken. Wellicht is het een idee om een soort rapport te maken waarin je de naam, adresgegevens en telefoonnummer in **** noteren. Dit zou je bijvoorbeeld kunnen plaatsen bij het kopje 'profielen'.
