1. Add maxAdults and maxChildren (or similar) to distributorAvailabilityLoaded event on each room in availableRooms

   Currently occupancy or capacity information (adultCount, childCount) is only available in event data after the user has selected a room, however the data is available in the UI when the list of rooms is shown to the user.

   For 3rd party tools (like price comparisons widgets) that need to compare rooms with capacity information this presents a real data accuracy problem.

   If the data could be exposed on each availableRoom in the distributorAvailabilityLoaded event it would not only ensure the event is consistent with the UI but also improve the accuracy of third party tools.

3. Improve error response "the JSON entered in the device's settings are correct" in Mews Connector app for Passport scanner integration.

   Error message in device commands for Passport Scanner integration says:

   Windows Connector does not support this command. Please check in Mews that the JSON entered in the device's settings are correct.

   There is no input for Json data in the Passport Scanner integration
   Mews Connector App is not supposed to be used for Passport Scanner integration.

4. Status adjustment from Inquiry to optional

   Currently we are unable to adjust the Inquired status to Optional status via the Connector API. So the connection with Thynk is not working, Optional groups in Thynk are not pushed through to Mews under Inquired status.....this causes imbalance between the systems

5. Connector API: Add get auto-login link for reservation online check-in

   API POST parameters:

   • Reservation ID
   • Client Token
   • Access token

   Returns link to auto-login for reservation online check-in

   Use Cases:

   • Send scheduled transactional emails for costumers to fill the check-in online.

   • Ops team doesn't have to trigger the email manually via Commander.

   • Push more relevant information inside the email.

   • Don't get emails from a different domain for the online Check-in.

   • Get ownership of the tone in the communications with our clients.

   We reopened this request for further upvotes. It is fairly clear what is being requested and it will need more investigation from Mews. In the mean time we would ask you to continue to up vote if this is still a required connectivity feature request.

6. Mews Connector for MAC

   Having the Mews Connector working even with Apple devices. To have the fiscal printer connected to Mews, we had to install windows for Mac, and it really slows down the system. I guess many other hoteliers use Apple devices.

7. accountingItems/getAll

   Extend the timefilter to have a UPDATED timefilter, so that you can retrieve all accounting items that have been created/modified within a certain timeframe.
   This way you can easily fetch for example "give me all items that were changed since yesterday".
   Advantage: If you would like to know if there were new accounting items modified/created since the last time you checked, you do not need to get all items for the entire future. That would save a lot of bandwidth and processing (on both server/client side)

8. reservations/getAll Resources extent should also return inactive resources

   When retrieving reservations with the 'Resources' extent the inactive spaces are not included in the response. This means an additional call to resources/getAll to retrieve also the inactive resources.

   Adding the inactive resources to reservations/getAll would circumvent this.

9. Add pagination to responses

   There are some endpoints (for example: the /reservations/search endpoint) that allow us to query certain objects like reservations that were created or modified in a certain time interval. If the time interval causes Mews to fetch too many objects, it will return a 408. This can be less straightforward for the caller as the caller does not know in which time interval most creations/modifications happened and the caller will thus keep calling the endpoint until the time interval is finally small enough for the request to succeed. As you can see, this can/will result in several consecutive failing calls which results in a longer wait time for the caller (you need to wait for the response to know if the time interval is ok and if not, you actually waited for nothing) and several unnecessary queries in your database as the result isn't used.

   To overcome this, we would like to suggest adding pagination to your endpoint. Pagination means that you will only return X objects in the response (lowering the impact on your database) and let the user know if there are more objects that match the time interval filter so they can crawl the next page. This means that each call be the caller will also be successful and the wait wasn't for nothing

10. Expand Webhook functionality to match current Websocket options

    Currently, an integration partner can listen to Websocket notifications to receive real time updates on reservations, command, and space events.

12. Hold Blocked Space Categories

    External systems that have group room blocks typically allow groups to go through a series of statuses that determine whether the blocked rooms should be taken from inventory. This is important as once a hotel promises a number of rooms to a group, it has to make good on that promise.

    With the way availability is updated in Mews currently, space categories can be overblocked and cause our users to fail to have all promised rooms available for their guests.

    Example:

    1. Hotel has space category "King Villa" with 10 rooms available for every day in July

    2. External system creates an availability block "A" for July 1st to July 5th, blocking 10 "King Villa" rooms for each day

    3. Group "A" in the external system has its status marked as "Definite", which in this example means the contract has been signed and those rooms are promised to the group.

    4. External system creates an availability block "B" for July 4th to July 8th, blocking 5 "King Villa" rooms for each day. Despite July 4th and 5th having all their rooms blocked by a definite group, this availability will be successfully blocked in Mews.

    5. Reservations for the "B" block get created in Mews before reservations for "A" get created

    6. When a user tries to create reservations for the July 1st to July 5th for the "A" block, not all of the inventory will be available.

    In Mews there needs to be some type of overbooking prevention or statuses on availability blocks to determine whether their availability adjustments should take priority over other block's availability adjustments.

    Let's take for an example the hotel "Hôtel Golf Château de Chailly".
    After calling the "rules/getAll" and "products/getAll" we see that the product "6c5ed799-2e8a-4a18-8325-ac7a0086a886" is applied for "ResourceCategoryType" equals to "Room" and "Suite". But it's not added to the price displayed on the booking engine, for example, for tarif "7c58c0e7-64f2-41d6-aaff-ac6f00c31da1" and room "7599d179-e235-4894-9310-ac6f00c320ff".

    You colleague explained us that this product is the city tax. And as this product has the option Exclude price from offer so only the price of the room will appear on the distributor.

    But how can we know if the product has this option (Exclude from offer) or not? By calling "products/getAll" and "rules/getAll" we don't receive any field which inicates it. Your colleague also confirmed that this information is not returned in your API response at the moment. So please include it.

14. Late Check Out Key Cutter Integration

    As it stands, the key cutter automatically defaults to whatever check-out time in that property is.

    When a guest adds a late check-out to their reservation, or when we enter it as a product, Mews should change the time to whatever the late check-out in that property is. Then we can still use key cutter without having to manually change the check-out time. This will significantly decrease human error in the case that reception doesn't notice that late check-out was added.

18. Add new property ExternalCode to Outlets

    Hi,
    currently outlets have only 3 properties - Id, IsActive and Name. We would utilize one more property named 'ExternalCode' that would make mapping of POS system revenue centers to Mews outlets easier. Currently we need to rely on using the same name of both sides, which is prone to typo error. It could be more reliable if there can be some configurable external numeric code available on Mews side for mapping.

20. services/getAvailability: add an OOO count.

    Most other PMS's (all using HTNG standard and most custom APIs) can provide a simple Date : Room Type : Out of Order count.

    So like:

    2021-06-30: King: 1 OOO
    2021-06-30: Queen: 0 OOO

    Mews requires storage of resourceBlocks, mapping of room numbers to resource categories, and storage of unique IDs for every OOO room. This is much more complex than other partners, and would require a whole new inventory architecture to support.

    Now that you've added an Adjustments extent: would be great to be able to pull total Out of Order counts by date and by roomtype via getAvailability as well.

    Most other PMS's (all using HTNG standard and most custom APIs) can provide a simple Date : Room Type : Out of Order count.

    So like:

    2021-06-30: King: 1 OOO
    2021-06-30: Queen: 0 OOO

    Mews requires storage of resourceBlocks, mapping of room numbers to resource categories, and storage of unique IDs for every OOO room. This is much more complex than other partners, and would require a whole new inventory architecture to support.
