Create bookings from timeline

Create bookings directly from the timeline by clicking and dragging to pre-fill your date selection and then complete all remaining booking details

I’m happy to announce that we’ve completed a highly anticipated functionality—creating reservations directly from the Timeline. From now on, finding the right spot in the Timeline for a new reservation will be much easier and faster. 🎉

    I would love to see this function!
    (And i am a bit shocked that up to date almost 500 Upvotes and more than 5 years haven't been enough to bring an idea this handy on the timeline.)

    The timeline view is an incredible helpful one and when looking for free spaces in the timeline it would be great if you could just start the creation of a new reservation directly from there.

    Here is my suggestion: Right click on a free space in the timeline to start a daterange selection. With pending daterange selection right click to cancel the daterange selection left to complete. If with a active daterange selection you click anywhere invalid the selection is cancelled to.

    When a daterange is completed you jumo into the create reservation view and skip step 1 (daterange is applied) directly into step 2 where the choosen space is selected in the dropdown.

    An alternative handling for creating a daterange selection in the timeline would be to right click and hold. This alternative could be used in addition to the handling above.

    When already adding behaviour to the timeline it would bee useful to allow rightclick on reservations to directly jump into reservation edit instead of preview.

    The reason users would like to book a room from the timeline is due to wanting a specific room. The work around is currently to book a double room and then drag and drop to the room you require.

    Great functionality that nearly all Hotel Perfect users are familiar with, it would be a real shame if Mews were not willing to add this feature. Booking from the timeline would be a great addition to the functionality - being able to click on an empty cell/room and complete the reservation for both one and multiple nights

    This Is just common sense

    Especially during peak season trying to make multiple reservations

    you can see where and when the guest is going. Also good for friends wanting to be in the same room.

    timeline to hostels is like res chart and is very important to see the whole big picture for hostels. to create new res from timeline is pretty essential!

    Please add this feature to make front desk job faster and easier especially with walk ins. Also allowing to more efficiently use timeline as a whole.

    Another Suggestion of mine is to have access to reserved a Room/Space from the Timeline as per other PMS Systems. To click on an empty space then able to 'book' a room/space like that. Much quicker & easier.
    Also to allow us to have more than ONE booking with same email address but different name to reserve more bookings.
