  1. The design of the booking engine in MEWS feels somewhat outdated, and it would be great if the MEWS design team could suggest a more modern appearance. It’s a shame that the hotel’s logo at the top left is so small.

  2. It would be really useful to have an option to shorten booking links directly within the platform, without having to rely on external websites like bit.ly or others. Currently, the booking link in Mews can get very long, which isn't ideal for sharing.

I think this addition would improve the user experience, making it more efficient and streamlined.

    Thanks for considering this!

  3. When booking through the Booking Engine, guests are not asked for their address, this only happens when they perform the check-in online.

Please request it when booking through the Booking Engine so that we don't need to register address at physical check-in.

  4. Current Flow >> Guests go through multiple steps:

""Dates → Room Selection → Rates + Upsell → Summary → Details → Payment Confirmation""

*Extra Pages create more opportunities for guests to drop off.
    *
For example, the Summary page seems to act as an extra confirmation step before entering guest details and payment.
*Fewer clicks and transitions mean less friction and fewer chances for abandonment.
    *
Combining certain pages/elements might also have a better customer experience.

  5. In the booking engine we are offering the promo code option for direct bookers to receive instant discount. However this is only possible on 1 rate group, leading to stacked OTA (member) offers sometimes being more favorable.

It would be great if we can develop a way to link 1 promo code to 2 rate groups to prevent this from happening

  6. In the current Booking Engine, there is a confusing issue with how parent and child space categories are handled. Guests are able to select all beds (child spaces) within a dorm (parent space) and also select the dorm itself. However, when attempting to finalize the reservation, the system displays the following error:

"We're very sorry, the highlighted categories are not available for the selected dates. Please select another category to proceed with your booking."

This occurs because the system allows the selection of both parent and child spaces simultaneously, but fails validation only at the final step. This behavior is…

  7. It would be a great idea to implement a “+ / –” button in the Mews Booking Engine, allowing guests to select the desired quantity of certain products.
At the moment, products such as “baby cot”, “gym access”, or “room upgrade” are usually added as one unit, which makes perfect sense. However, for other types of products like soft drinks, mineral water, or snacks, the system still defaults to one unit, even though guests may want to purchase multiple quantities (e.g., 7 cans of Coca-Cola and 6 bottles of mineral water).
    Adding a simple “+ / –” quantity selector next…

  8. Our Mews booking engine is connected to Trivago, Tripadvisor and Google Hotel Ads. When a user clicks the outbound link in this channels to he is landing on our mews booking engine.
If the user now wants to find out more about the hotel there is no link to our homepage! It would be easy for mews just to link the hotel logo with the respective homepage URL...

  9. When making a reservation as a booker, there should be an option to determine whether the guest receives an email confirmation or not. This flexibility is particularly important for personal assistants (PAs) and corporate bookers who manage travel arrangements on behalf of others.

In many cases, PAs prefer to handle all communication with the guest directly, ensuring consistency in information and maintaining control over the booking details. Automatically sending a confirmation from the property can sometimes cause confusion, especially if the guest was not involved in the booking process or if additional arrangements need to be communicated separately.

    Providing bookers…

  10. Imagine this situation:
Guests are early for CI and waiting for their room to be ready. This room could then be marked as "notify me about status change".
When housekeeping changes the room status to "inspected" a notification is sent to the front office.
Then they can call the guests and they can check in as early as possible.

  12. When choosing initial room guest can add promoted services. Once promoted service is added, if the guest wants to add another room from primary service ("+Add another item") promoted services are not offered any more.
It would be helpfull if promoted services are always offered when choosing the item from the primary service.

  13. Enhance the booking engine to intelligently display add-on products based on the inclusions of the selected rate. Specifically, prevent the display of the breakfast add-on when the chosen rate already includes breakfast.

    Background:
Currently, our booking engine is configured to offer both rates including anf excluding breakfast, allowing guests to add breakfast as an optional extra if it is not included. This approach works well for rates not including breakfast. However, when a rate that includes breakfast is the only option presented, the system still displays breakfast as an add-on. This redundancy not only confuses guests but also undermines the…

  14. Only available time slots visible in booking engine on first page, not after you already have chosen a time slot on the first page (ie. if the service booked from 11-12 or 18-19, they would not be even as an alternative, but only times between 12-18 and 19-21 for example.

  15. Why this matters:
At the moment, LLMs (like ChatGPT) and meta search platforms tend to redirect users to OTAs like Booking.com instead of our direct Booking Engine. This shift is largely due to a suboptimal booking interface, which contributes to significant commission losses. Improving the calendar UX would not only support direct conversions but also make our engine more competitive in AI-driven booking flows.

    Description:
The current date-selection tool in the Mews Booking Engine lacks clarity and usability, which leads to guest confusion and booking abandonment. We'd like to propose the following improvements:

    • A more intuitive calendar interface that allows…

  16. When setting up a MinLOS, the booking enigne mentions "no availability".
This is misleading for guests since you can book, but only for 2 nights (in our example). There should be a pop up saying that there is a MinLOS for the requested date.

  18. The requested feature is that guests can register on a wait list on fully booked dates with automatic email notifications for when rooms are again available on the desired date(s).

This would remove any need for manual labor from the hotel side to handle wait lists.

    Example:
    - Guest tries to book a room Aug 1st - Aug 2nd
    - Hotel is fully booked
    - Guest opts in to our guest list by entering their email address
    - Hotel opens up for bookings on Aug 1st
    - Guest automatically receives email saying that the date(s) they searched for now have…

  19. On booking engine, show lowest room rate on each date + a clear indication of minimum nights. Lots of other booking engines and airlines allow for this. Great tool to increase occupancy on quieter, future dates.

  20. Currently, when using the MEWS reservation portal, clients who book a room for someone else (by selecting "I am booking for someone else") are not able to manage the reservation afterward. This includes essential actions such as modifying dates or canceling the booking.

To work around this, clients are selecting "I am booking for myself", even when reserving for another guest. While this allows them to manage the reservation, it results in the reservation being confirmed under the wrong name—that of the email/account holder—rather than the actual guest. This creates confusion for both the hotel staff and the end guest,…
