Automatic Wait List Feature
The requested feature is that guests can register on a wait list on fully booked dates with automatic email notifications for when rooms are again available on the desired date(s).
This would remove any need for manual labor from the hotel side to handle wait lists.
Example:
- Guest tries to book a room Aug 1st - Aug 2nd
- Hotel is fully booked
- Guest opts in to our guest list by entering their email address
- Hotel opens up for bookings on Aug 1st
- Guest automatically receives email saying that the date(s) they searched for now have availability
- Guest books room on hotel website on a first come first served basis
The email is also sent to all other guests registered on the wait list on the desired date(s).

Agreed. Mews needs some kind of wait list functionality. User Simen Vinge posted a similar idea in November last year here:
Marking this as 'critical' as a wait list helps to maximize bookings and profitability. Any updates on this?

This would be a fantastic addition to Mews' functionalities. There is not even the most basic wait list functionality in Mews. My staff are currently tracking our wait list in Excel, which is not a very efficient solution compared to what Simen is proposing here.
Any updates on the exploration phase of this idea?

A good idea! Not sure if it should be automatically sending messages in case a room gets available. In the situation that there are more than 2 rooms in the waiting list I imagine the hotel would like to have to possibility to have the control on who needs to get the room.

We need a waitlist for overbookings. Meaning if you are fully booked, you can put customers on a waitlist, as soon as there is a cancellation, the guest will be informed and offered a room. Thank you.

People have been asking for waiting list for years, and its still don't up and running. ??? When we went for Mews we were told it was innovative and up to date. it doesn't seems like that.

Would love a waiting list functionality to increase occupancy when receiving cancellations on a fully booked date.
The most ideal would be if either front desk gets notification or if an automatic mail goes to the guest where they can accept or decline the reservation.

Having the option to put a quests request for a room/date into the system that if you have a cancellation around that room/date the system will automatically assign it to the waitlist guest. A confirmation will be sent out to the waitlist guest automatically who can then either look to cancel or go ahead with the future booking. Saves having to manually keep guests in a seperate waitlist/remember to be on-top of this.

We added a waitlist feature in Hotel Perfect and our customer loved it! So having something similar in Mews is a must. Add reservation requests to the a waitlist, desired dates/room type etc, when a booking is cancelled the user gets an indicator/task come up that it may be possible to accommodate someone on the waitlist - this should only happen if the required dates can be accommodated following the recent cancellation.
With OTA/BE integration obviously availability is automatically updated, so the prompt for the user needs to happy quickly and efficiently so they time to place the room on option whilst they contact the guest

A Queue/waitlist function for early arrivals. The room will be put on a queue/waitlist, this gets integrated to KnowCross for housekeeping to know to clean that room next. Once inside the function in MEWS, we can see a list of all waitlisted rooms and we can see when they are inspected so we can contact the guest and let them know to check-in. Opera has a feature like this that would be ideal to replicate.

Being able to make a waitlist for requested dates, can increase revenue. Having a seperate waitlsit apart from Mews systems, is absolutely not foul proof.
