We would love to see an automated Online Waiting List integrated directly into the Mews Booking Engine and PMS.
Guest Experience: When a guest selects dates that are fully booked, instead of seeing a generic "No Availability" message, they are given an option to "Join the Waiting List."
Authorization: The guest enters their details and credit card information (secured via Mews Terminals/Gateway) to pre-authorize the potential booking, knowing that if a room opens up, they will be automatically booked.
Automation: If a cancellation occurs for those specific dates, the Mews system automatically triggers a booking for the first guest on the waiting list, processes the deposit, and sends a confirmation email.
Tiered Expiry: Allow guests to select how close to the arrival date they wish to remain on the waitlist (e.g., “Keep me on the list until 24 hours before arrival”).
Auto-Match vs. Manual Approval: Give properties a toggle switch in Mews Settings to either let the system auto-book the cancellation or send a notification to the reservations team to approve it manually.
Prioritization: A dashboard within Mews to view the waitlist queue, prioritized by the date the guest joined or by guest tier (e.g., VIP/Loyalty).
