How is this still the case?:

Note (on help.mews.com): Currently, you can only price rooms using age categories. You cannot:

Price products based on age category,
Set City tax based on age categories, or
Configure your space categories, for example, configure a space category's extra occupancy based on an age category.

Great that you added age-based pricing!
Now let's make it available with a relative adjustment for the price. How can it be a that a modern system like Mews still thinks in absolute adjustments?

Absolute adjustments are worthless for any hotel that has variable pricing troughout the year. Which is every hotel.

Would be helpful that the system can auto post the items, particularly breakfast based on the customer type (adult, child) not based on the number of people. Currently we have alot of manual adjustments to correct this as breakfast added is always added per person when children get a discount.

At this moment we can only charge adults. We have a policy that children under 12 years are free of charge. So if guests book with the booking engine 2 adults and 2 children, MEWS automatically charge 4 adults, so the rate is never correct and we always have to correct this and send a new confirmation to the guest.
Also child product rates would be helpfull if f.e. some hotels charge 50% for breakfast and dinner. Thx

I would like this feature also for the city tax product

In our company, we differentiate guests as an adult(age 4 and above) or an infant (age 3 and below). Only adults are counted for room capacity. We don't need the children field, it would be great if we could remove it or edit that field and change it to infant.

I totally agree with the previous reviews. This is a critical issue that prevents good optimization. This must be your next priority development !!

I think this is a critical issue! In a city like Helsinki, travel is usually business related but Covid-19 has changed everything. Now we get a lot of family tourism. BUT we cannot offer competitive rates as as we can't have the age based pricing.... It's possible even in all the OTA's to set the prices exactly by age, why not in Mews. Please fix this quickly! Thank you.

Most hotels in the world welcome has a rate for children for breakfast or others.
This is not applicable to Mews.

How it's possible that this features is still not available!

For us, as potencial MEWS users, it is a quite important feature because we manage family hotels and it is core on our pricing strategy to be able to provide discounts and advantages for first/second childs in our pricing.

In such a product like ours (Apartments) that has Families as a target audience it is a MUST that we have price based on age! I see this is here since 2018, hoping this is arranged ASAP. Thank you!

Since in the Canton of Ticino all guests are given a ticket for free use of public transport at check-in. To issue the ticket before arrival we need the date of birth of every arriving guests (children's included).

First of all it is strategic choice for our chain of hotels to work with different prices between Adults and Children (with age pricing attached to it.)
It really can't be missed in a proper pms. Though it is very important for our Dutch Hotels having prices which are attractive for families, booking apartments, familiyrooms, etc. with lower prices than adults, it is also important for other departments in the hotel, such as Front Office, F& B, Housekeeping.
Guestlist, breakfast list, emergency services, such as fire deparment, police, etc and child oriented activities.
For our F&B outlets we really must know what we can expect in advance knowin the number of children for breakfast, lunch, diner etc.

we also have holiday apartments in our hotel which we manage in mews. These would be much more attractive with children prices, because the holiday apartments are often booked by families.
