Impove Timeline visual appearance for improved working conditions & accessibility
We're new to MEWS and whilst the functionality is brilliant (thank you), our front of house team really struggle with the visual appearance of the timeline. Spending lots of screen time on a screen with poor visual appearance and contrasts is not healthy and inefficient as it is difficult to see the timeline at a glance - please could you look at improving visual contrasts both colours and lines between dates/spaces for improved accessibility.
Thank you very much

This will make the booking system so much more user-friendly. Also quickly enables you to see how many of a certain package/type are already booked for a date.

this would cut down time just doing voucher close outs by way over half. it makes the reception teams life easier by seeing at a glance which bookings are early arrivals, which are corporates and which are vouchers. This is defiantly needed

This would be the perfect solution. Currently to difficult to see in one view what is paid or not.

It would be an awesome feature, if you could individually select the color of a reservation in the timeline - that would make an overview much easier.
For example: Two rooms are booked from the same customer. Therefore you can select a specific color for both reservations. Then you can easily recognise bookings in the timeline, that belong together.

For colour blind staff the dots for dirty, inspected, clean etc. do not help. It would be useful to hover over the room number to see the status rather than having to open each room.
Currently the timeline is not accessible for colour blind. -

I would love to see at least a red dot on an unpaid reservation on the timeline if that is at all possible.

Ready colours for check-in highlight the entire box of the booking so there is confidence from the team that the room is ready

Changing the colour from light grey to dark grey when a guest checks in is ok. but being able to assign colours to reservations to be able to see clearly groups, certain OTA bookings etc

Option to see room description from the timeline - perhaps right click on the room number opens images of the room and full sales description

Make coloured tags on timeline for each reservation so we see straight away the type of guest: for example returning guest, journalist, vip guest or guest with a dog or guest with a special order etc.
It avoids clicking around to find the information. You can make the tags for reservations or guests.

It would be helpful on the time line if the room number could be listed vertically and be more visible when zoomed out all the way

For us it that is because the timeline is the screen you leave open 99% of the day and use to navigate to everything else, so its the best place to get information at a quick glance. We spend about 0% of the time with the dashboard open.
A report is a few extra clicks away from being generated, its not even quicker than going into a reservation manually from the timeline. You could leave a report open in one window and the timeline open in another window to save time, but it would still be annoying trying to compare the two windows especially if you are in a rush. Plus the staff also have to remember check the report, rather than simply being reminded of the payment status just by looking right at the timeline which they are doing anyway.
Also - we have lots of long termers in reservations that are always checked in and simply being extended, it would be easier to tell which ones are behind on rent with a payment status dot like that on the timeline so you can quickly yell out to them if they are walking past. At the moment we are finding its pretty easy to lose track of the long termers.
Life would be much easier if the timeline had a payment status dot feature :) -

For every reservation that is on timeline, it would be nice if there was some form of a payment status descriptor so that our front desk staff can visually recognize which reservations have fully paid and which haven’t.
For example:
A fully paid reservation could have a “green” dot
An unpaid booking could have a “red” dot
A failed transaction could have a “black “ dotAt this moment we have to manually enter the reservation and go to the payments tab to check if the reservation is fully paid or not. This takes time for each booking and is not very user friendly. Also keeping in mind, when we are fully booked every day, this process takes even longer.

Underneath dates in Timeline - to show current restrictions, events in house, city events and public holidays.

Would be good to have an icon or something on every booking on timeline that identifies to staff to clearly let them know if that booking is not paid up to date

I find the color choices really strange. For example, when I see grey I think the reservation is from the past, when I see blue I don't feel like I need to do anything. It is not really logical if you don't know what it means.
My color proposal would be the following:
-Gray --> Past reservations
-Black--> Out of Order
-Blue--> To be checked in (Reservations of the day)
-Green --> Already checked in
-Orange--> To be checked out.
-Red--> The check out need to be done, the room was supposed to be checked out before.
-Clearer Grey / White --> future reservationsJust my humble opinion!
Kind regards,
Laura from Yalo Hotel Boutique Ghent.
