Property Operations and PMS: this is the forum for posting your ideas and comments on all aspects of hotel operations, from reservations to events to metrics and reports.   1. It should be possible to set the order of the rates yourself in the reservation form. At the moment it is apparently incomprehensibly coincidental.

    The ordering works in the settings but not in the reservation form.
    It is very annoying when you have to open the dropdown menu every time because the most booked rate is not displayed first.

  2. The option of setting automatic alerts to pop-up during different stages of reservations, such as during check-in, any time you open the reservation, during check-out. The alert text should be customizable, so a user can enter anything there, but also the possibility of adding standard alerts depending on membership level, profile classifications, specific rates, etc.

  3. I would like to indicate how many guests are staying each of the nights in a reservation. Similar to how you can edit the price of each individual night within the Pricing tab of a reservation, but instead of editing the price, you would like a feature or a way in which to indicate the number of guests on a reservation in each individual night.

  6. Displaying the rate (Best rate of the day) on the calendar would save time on two levels:
    1- When making a reservation, it would be possible to inform the customer at a glance about the availability of a room and to communicate the rate of the room.

    2- displaying the rates on the calendar would help to check the correct configuration of the rates and to make changes/adjustments if necessary.

  7. Das Anliegen ist nur eine Kleinigkeit, aber es wäre toll, wenn man irgendwo ein Anfangsdatum anlegen muss, dass das Enddatum automatisch NACH dem Anfangsdatum wäre. Wenn man Restriktionen erstellt, ist es ja auch immer so, dass wenn ich z. B. "von 1.6.25" anklicke, bei "bis" automatisch ein Datum ab dem 1.6.25 wählbar ist.

    Bei vielen anderen Punkten im System ist es nicht so, da steht dann bei "bis"-Daten immer automatisch das heutige Datum, also z. B. wenn ich einen Promocode anlege und bei "für Reservierungen ab dem..." den 1.6.25 anwählen würde, lande ich bei "Reservierungen bis" wieder beim heutigen Datum…

  10. There is a huge problem in Mews when it comes to availability blocks and overbooking.

    Right now, if you for example have all existing standard rooms blocked in an availability block, and then there is an overbooking of a standard room, this overbooking will not show on the availability overview. It will just say that the availability for standard rooms is 0, and not -1. So then if you look at the availability overview, it will say for example that we have 0 standard rooms available and 1 superior room, so it looks like we have one room available, but…

  11. It would be important to have the possibility to generate an alarm pop-up at check in.

    Often parcels, letters, messages have to be handed over, the director or supervisor should be called. Such messages make daily life much easier, but they are difficult or impossible to see in the property note or have to be actively searched for.

  12. It would be extremely helpful to be able to write comments on reservation directly from the reservation overview report instead of having to click details->administer->properties and THEN be able to write a comment. After all of that, you cannot even just click back, because then you will come to the home screen and not the reservation overview report again. It would save us alot of time, especially us who write comments on almost every single reservation when we go through them for the day to check for extra needs, memberships etc :)

  14. When a reservation has met the conditions of a "No-show" automatically, there should be a sequence of events for Mews to automatically add (not only) the Cancellation Fee + Payment + balanced Bill Closure at the end.

  15. It should be possible to do a rate note that follow in a reservation everytime a new reservation is made with the rate. That would make it easier if the company have prefered things or just for invoicing.

  16. Show Rates connected to Segment. We have certain rates with certain segments. When creating a booking and so choosing a segment it should only show rates with that segment.

When you have a overbooking of a space category in the future, i.e. December, and you are creating an Availability Block on the a previous date, i.e. June, the overbooking reduces the availability of that space category in June as well. The availability calculation strategies diffusive or discrete, should have in consideration the actual dates of the booking in overbooking. To have the availability on the availability block we have to go to that future booking, and change the requested category to a higher space category and then go back to the availability block, so the real availability can be…

  18. When a reservation is modified (eg because the check out date is extended), the room can be locked. However when you are extending this reservation, it is quite possible that you already have a locked reservation blocking the room you are about to extend.

    MEWS does not warn you when you are extending the reservation if and when this is the case, hence your perhaps VIP on arrival is moved without anybody being informed.

  19. Bei der Booking Engine sollte für bestimmte Tarifgruppen die Möglichkeit bestehen, dass sie eine Buchung abschliessen können, ohne Angabe einer Kreditkarte. Gerade grössere Firmen mit Vertrag steigen mittlerweile auf Onlinebuchungen um, diese Kunden haben ein Bedürfnis, Reservationen schnell abwickeln zu können. Wenn vertraglich festgelegt ist, dass die Firma den Aufenthalt bezahlt, sollte es möglich sein, die Buchung ohne eine Garantie erstellen zu können.

  20. We would like to be able to put restrictions within specific space categories so that children can not be booked into them - it seems we are not the only buisness requesting for this to be developed within the system.

    We have 9 space categories at the hotel, three of which are unsuitable for children due to the set up and lack of space for them (small beds/small rooms).

    I feel this is a rather basic option to have within a PMS system, also there should be restrictions in place to prevent families with children to be offered multiple rooms…
