Merge Profiles with identical passport/id number
Merging profile with email is fine.
But we could improve it by merging it on basis of the passport/ID number. This way, a booking.com guest would be merged and seen as a returning guest.

I suggest merging based on the telephone number since the phone number is already entered by the guest when making the reservation.

Additional to passport/ID numbers, Mews could look for other identifiers such as phone number. Mews could then `suggest` the user to merge the two profiles. This would be a massive differentiator.
