City taxes for children
City taxes amount is different between adults and children, and among children based on their age.
Would be useful to create a rule that recognises the different kind of partecipants and their age among children, showing, then, the different amounts due111 votes -

Difference TOTAL with/without VAT on invoices
MEWS calculates prices with and without VAT per product and presents them per product on the invoice.
At the end of the invoice MEWS presents the summary of the prices with and without VAT per VAT.
On huge invoices the calculated and presented total price without VAT is not the same as the summary of the presented prices without VAT per product due rounding differences.
Guests/companies/ accounting are complaining about this.
THEREFORE PLEASE ADJUST and do not present the price per product without VAT per product. (only VAT in %, amount and price with VAT)
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:

keep old price button
When changing the number of people in a booking if you select KEEP OLD PRICE, the system will change the city tax and add the difference to the room price. Please change this so that the price of the room is not changed, the city tax has nothing to do with room night prices.

City Tax as part of LE
City tax is very complicated and often includes several conditions and limitations that are specific to each legal environment. Currently, each property must be careful to apply this city tax according to their own legal requirements, however integrating this knowledge into each Legal Environment within Mews could help simplify many processes, as tax would be automatically applied or deducted where necessary.

Automated incidentals upon guests arrival
In the US, upon arrival the hotel puts hold (pre-authorizes) the guest card for certain amount/night (it's usually a flat rate). They keep the money on hold and when the guest exceeds their spending (restaurant, spa charges etc that they put on their room), the system should then pre-authorize additional amount. It's like credit the hotel holds for the spending of the guest during their stay.
In other PMS systems you can program the amount either per day (i.e. $50.00 per day on top of the room & tax) or per stay flat rate (i.e. $150.00 per stay). Then, as…

Tourist tax
It would be interesting to be able to enter the tourist tax with a unit or relative amount for adults, and to have the possibility of setting exemption categories such as: "children under the age of 12, invaled, police, etc.". also have the possibility to insert a period of applicability for seasonal hotels (Sea, Mountain).

Group Block Agreement
To expand on the new Group Blocks feature, I would love a simple Group Block Agreement form/report that summarizes the number of rooms blocked, the dates associated with the rooms and the nightly (pre-tax) rooms rate.
It would have a customizable "terms" section where we can note cancelation policies, block release date etc and have a signature page for the client to sign.
Right now we have to generate this outside of Mews, which creates additional work. Happy to send you a sample of what we are looking for!
Thanks for listening!

Thank you very much for sharing your feedback with us. If you are able to share an example, that would be very helpful for us to understand the information you envision being added to a block.
Which types of groups would you typically add "terms' for? For example corporates or leisure.

rates including city tax
In some cases rates are offered/contracted including city tax. It would be nice if reservations department can select a rate with city tax already included instead of having to calculate and deduct the city tax (which in our case is dependent on the number of guests and booked meals) from the rate first.

VAT drop for longstay guests (28+ days)
in the UK the VAT drops from 20% to 4% from the 29th night.. which is currently happening in Mews however the total amount doesn’t change just the internal split changes. So properties are not able to pass the benefit of the reduced tax to guests which ideally they should do or at least would like to do.

Showing subtotals on the reservation screen
When creating a new reservation, on the right handside, the total is including all the added products & city tax. We should be able to see a subtotal NOT including the City Tax.
Further more, as we could only see the average rate before, it would be great to have the rate detailed per night.12 votesHello Mélissa,

Add Elements on the reservation screen with dates
Hello,
I love using your system it's really simple and effective.Just one suggestion maybe: when we had elements on a reservation (breakfast, city tax, half board etc...) it would be nice to have an option to select the dates we want them to be charged. At the moment, it charges them automatically for the all stay and we have to cancel the lines we don't need one by one (for example for a customer that stays 5 nights but wants breakfast only one day).
Best regards.
Sylvestre

Enhanced routing rules (on reservation level)
Many larger properties in the United States route rules on reservation level. For instance, in business travel, you need to route all room and tax to the paymaster and leave incidentals on the guest bill.
