Automatic Wait List Feature
The requested feature is that guests can register on a wait list on fully booked dates with automatic email notifications for when rooms are again available on the desired date(s).
This would remove any need for manual labor from the hotel side to handle wait lists.
Example:
- Guest tries to book a room Aug 1st - Aug 2nd
- Hotel is fully booked
- Guest opts in to our guest list by entering their email address
- Hotel opens up for bookings on Aug 1st
- Guest automatically receives email saying that the date(s) they searched for now have availability
- Guest books room on hotel website on a first come first served basis
The email is also sent to all other guests registered on the wait list on the desired date(s).

Es wäre super, wenn es eine automatisierte Warteliste gibt.
Gäste fragen für Zeiträume an, die schon ausgebucht sind. Sinnvoll wäre es, wenn es in mews eine Warteliste gibt, wo man diese Gäste einträgt und sollte ein ZImmer storniert werden dann schickt Mews automatisch an den Gast aus der Warteliste ein Angebot zu. -

When you have a full date and it is in high demand, you can add a waiting list so that in case of cancellations you can call those clients.

Be able to add a waiting list for customers waiting for certain nights. Including name, phone number and a block to leave descriptive notes for that inquiring guest.

Currently, we rely on manual waitlists on paper or spreadsheets, which are easy to forget or inconsistently checked. This leads to missed opportunities, frustrated guests, and ultimately, lost revenue. Staff are busy, and it’s unrealistic to expect perfect tracking without automation.
Many other PMS platforms already offer this functionality as a standard feature. It’s a proven tool that keeps properties competitive, efficient, and responsive to guest demand.

An internal wait list is needed to note in guests to contact with available rooms as a first priority when availability presents itself on fully booked days! Right now, we use an Excel sheet for this...

We have recently migrated to MEWS. Our old PMS system had a decent waitlist feature. We overlooked that MEWS did not offer a feature or even a way to do this! I would say this is critical beyond critical. Can someone let us and the rest of the folks below know where this stands on the dev list. Right now we feel like we are missing sales because we dont have a way to accommodate our guests. Thanks!

Currently in using WebRez our waitlist allows us to send emails only to those we want to send emails to instead of automatically. Would be need to see that as a push function, so you open the waistlist and each line item has a "send email?" button so you can manage who and in what order the emails get sent out.
But anything like is mentioned above would be amazing!

Would be interesting to hear from someone at Mews why this is not done yet - seems like a pretty obvious feature that would be popular. Is it due to implementation difficulties with tech or just a priority thing?

For sure it would be interesting, however the automatic e-mail to the guest I'm not sure would be ideal. I think it should be up to the hotel to see which reservation needs to be confirmed.
