Property Operations and PMS: this is the forum for posting your ideas and comments on all aspects of hotel operations, from reservations to events to metrics and reports. Where we can, we'll move ideas around to group them as intuitively as possible for the product managers working on the PMS.

  1. When using "add another reservation" it should be possible to change guest/customer name. Instead of adding rooms for same person

    Thank you for sharing your request with us. It is currently possible to add a new guest profile when adding another reservation to an existing group.


    In order to do this, you can click on the  add another reservation button > Mews will pre-fill the date range and open the second step of the new reservation screen > In the customer section select the "X" to remove the current profile that has been pre-filled and add the name of the new customer you would like to add. This will create a new reservation with the name of the new customer to your group.


    Should you have any issues, please contact our customer care team.

  2. Insert a day by day rate per block manually instead of selecting an existing rate that has the wrong prices. Because we don't have fix block prices and maybe there are multiple blocks for one day with another rate.

  3. With the new availability report I am missing the calendar dates.
    What is important to check the availability for example with close-out dates.

    Is it possible to add the calendar to the new availability report ?

    This would really help. Now I am still working with the old report.

  4. When you click on the "Timeline" symbol on the guest future reservation. The system does not brings you to the exact reservation on the timeline. you have to check for that on the search bar. I think it would save time if we can access straight away from the guest reservation.

    Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are very happy to inform you that this issue has been resolved. When selecting the reservation icon for future reservations, you will now be directed to the correct space the reservation is allocated on the timeline.

  5. Error "Sorry, this page isn't available or you are not authorized." pops up when clicking on the billing of the customer through the Action log tab of the reservation

    We are so pleased to let you know that your feature request has been released. You are now able to see billing items in the action from the reservation module thanks to our new billing action log. 


    All links are now clickable have an easy to ready user interface that gives you a detailed view on the actions performed on the bill relating to that reservation. You can learn more about the billing action log below:

  8. These filter does not provide enough detail to inform you where your guest's are arriving from.
    It would be very helpful to have the Reservation Report include the City and Country details for the guest. Where the guests are from can often be a conversation starter for the front desk staff, especially if they have travel experience/knowledge.
    Also, at this time of COVID, it is also helpful to know if the guest is from a locked down or red zone area.
    Suggestion: Have the City and Country fields from the Customer Profile display on the Reservation Report.

    We are so pleased to let you know that your feature request partially exists. If you export Reservation report, you will be able to see country. Also, Customer statistics report can be grouped by nationality in Mews directly.

    As per the city, this request has not received the necessary upvotes to be added to the Mews development roadmap and is unlikely to be delivered.

  9. Would be good to have feature where you can build a non residential package, that is not linked to accommodation. Foe example we have a spa and we do spa days. a meeting room where we have day delegate package.

    You can create the package but you cant book the package as there is no "management accounts" or ability to add function space in Mews

  10. If you are in Management analytics and you want to go to Pickup Analytics, you need to go via the burger menu again and select Pickup + ReEnter the Filter on all pages. It would be nice to have shortcuts on the screen to switch to all analytics keeping the'Filter on all pages'

  11. Financial analytics - open invoices. I see that you have the ageing periods in there. The only thing that is really still missing here is 1 amount: the ageing factor. Is there any chance that you would develop this. For those who are not familiar with this terminology; the ageing factor= SUM(outstanding amount*nr of days outstanding per invoice) divided by total amount outstanding.
    This factor (1 number) gives an immediate glance of your accounts receivable status. Back in the days hotels were always aiming to be around the number of 34.

  12. First of all: I like that there is a symbol / notification in Commander (in the top right) for new releases.

    But once I have clicked on it, I would like that it disappears, also after logging out and back in.

    It basically should only appear, once there is a new release note. Because like that I always know that there is something new I should read.
    But if I receive a notification (--> the icon shows up in the top right), but there is no new release note, it's a bit frustrating if there is no new release note.

  16. In a big chain with 12500+ travel agents, it is a must to being able to look on IATA number. A lot of TA's have the same name but may have another IATA number.

  18. it is actually unworkable as it will try to update for at least 2 minutes (no exaggeration!)
    it does it for as good as all the actions you and you basically need to open a new mews session (or risk that you forgot what you were about to do in the first place)

    We are happy to inform you that we have resolved the performance issues for the system.

    You and your team should be able to run Mews at an improved speed. Should you continue to experience performance issues, please do let us know.

  19. Would like the ability to save favorite reports in Mews rather than have to reset the filters each time. We can save this for export, but if I only wish to view the report, I must reset the filters each time and remember the previous setting used. This is cumbersome and prone to mistakes.

    If there was a favorite report section under the burger menu, it would be easy to access specific areas in Mews to display reports that are frequently used. These can be exported or printed, but in most cases, just need to be able to save the…

    Thank you for the feedback.

    It is currently possible to view your favorite reports with the filters preselected by using custom links. You can set this up by:

    1. Opening a report in Mews > select the filters you require.
    2. Click “View” to apply the filters.
    3. Copy the URL and paste it in as a custom link.
    4. Save your custom link and refresh the page
    5. You will now be able to access the report with pre-selected filters by opening the burger menu > select custom links > select the custom link you have created

    It is also possible to access the custom links using a keyboard shortcut. You can learn more about both in the guide linked below:

  20. Registration cards in the US legal environment are in the wrong format: DD/MM/YYYY.
    The correct format according to the local standard should be MM/DD/YYYY.
