An optional booking to be confirmed only with a credit card
At the moment when an optional reservation is made for a guest manually, the guest will receive an email from MEWS and they can just click on Confirm or Cancel.
When they Click on Confirm the optional reservation is immediately confirmed in MEWS but no credit card details are requested to guarantee the reservation.
We want the system to only give the guest the possibility to Confirm the reservation once they have inserted their credit card details first.
Thank you !

Online confirmation via credit card is an absolute must and standard in the hospitality business. Since 5 years Mews didn't address this issue. Concerning!!!!

It's been five years since you launched the vote. Ninety-two people have requested this feature. Do we have to wait another five years?
It's essential for a hotel to automate reservation confirmations by registering a payment card. -

Assuming an individual reservation in the optional and inquired status, the Guest can confirm or cancel the reservation; however, confirming the reservation does not automatically require providing a card for the guarantee; is it possible to change the process for individual reservations in the inquired and optional status so that when the Guest clicks confirm, it automatically transfers the Guest to the online CI, where providing a card is required?

We love the optional booking feature and see a great conversion on "bookable quotes", especially within our availability blocks. When guests confirm an optional booking, they need instructions on how to add their credit card via online check-in . When a guest reservation generated in the avaialbility block confirms, the payment calculation derives from the 2nd scheduled payment policy taking 75% of the payment when we only require 25% to confirm. We would love to see a flow through to add payment after confirming optional booking and the system recognition of the deposit scheduled payment over final balance settlement

This is a critical point !!!! Including credit card collection as a standard step to secure reservations for our business operations, is not just useful, it’s essential.

Everyone knows that for a definitve confirmation you should need to guarantee the reservation. Therefore Credit Card should be mandatory, otherwise the reservation shouldn't be confirmed.

100% true. How is it possible that a system that focuses that much on payment automatization doesn't ask for a CC in order to confirm a reservation.

For a guest to confirm an optional reservation, entering credit card details must be mandatory. (Currently, the guest confirms first and only enters the details afterward if they want to, as it is not even a required field.)

It's incredibly clear and urgent!
This needs to be a top priority: allowing an option to be validated without an associated payment method is illogical. A big thanks to the technical teams for making this a priority please as this will save us from having to follow up with guests to secure a payment guarantee... -

So obvious, so urgent!
This should be a functional priority: being able to validate an option without an associated means of payment is nonsense.
Thank you to the technical teams for putting this at the top of the pile...
This will avoid having to chase after guests to get a payment guarantee. -

When potential clients are choosing to confirm a reservation via Optional booking quote, they are not directed to input thier credit card. They have to search for this feature. The PMS does not require a credit card to confirm these reservations leaving more follow up work on operations and creates confusion for the guest. Autofill the guests credit card to confirm the reservation would alleaviate a lot of head aches.

I agree this is also super important to us and I don't understand why Mews is not following the same UX as when client is booking through Mews engine.

Absolutely agree this should be prioritised as it is vital to improving both our guest's journey and avoiding headaches on so many levels.
