Adding different Status for Tasks in Mews
Currently, tasks in Mews can only be assigned a deadline or to close them. While this covers the basic workflow, it leaves a gap in team communication and task visibility.
I’d like to suggest introducing an additional task status, for example, “In Progress” to indicate when someone has already started working on a task.
Why this would be valuable:
Improved coordination: Prevents multiple team members from picking up the same task unknowingly.
Transparency: Makes it clear which tasks are actively being worked on versus those still pending.
Clear lifecycle: Having statuses such as To Do → In Progress → Done creates a more intuitive and structured workflow.
Additional suggestions to enhance flexibility:
Allow customizable statuses (e.g., “Waiting for Review,” “Blocked”) so teams can adapt Mews tasks to their specific workflows.
Show who moved a task into “In Progress” to improve accountability.
Optional notifications when a task changes status, so everyone stays updated without needing to constantly check the board.
A visual indicator (color or icon) for the current status to make scanning task lists easier.
This small addition, with room for flexibility, could significantly reduce confusion, improve efficiency, and enhance collaboration within teams using Mews.
