Cancellation Policy for stay Products
At the moment cancellation Policy for products on a rate group is determined by that products way it is consumed, so say for instance I want to charge the guest for only the first night room tax and breakfast, the breakfast still gets charged for every day of the stay if it is defined to be consumed nightly. this leads to much manual work for frontdesk to be able to charge the cancellation fee correctly.
A way for the products to be charged a cancellation fee "individually" according to that specific rate group seems the way to adjust this.

Guests should only be charged for the first night and first night products where there is a No Show/late cancellation. Current rules charge the guest for all products throughout the stay - causing additional administration to refund these products, not to mention guest dissatisfaction.

Original booking = Night1 £80 + Night2 £78 + Night3 £150 + 6xBfast Inclusive £52.50
Cancellation policy is to charge 1st night (& 1st night inclusive product) = £80 (+ £17.50) = £97.50.
Mews billing cancellation charges applied = £132.50 (1st night + 6x Bfast).
Overcharge = £35.
Not charging for the nightly stay but charging for the products included is not correct! -

This should be done as basic for a PMS, I do not understand why this needs voting. Something like this should be already done and set as basic function. I would love for Mews to explain which hotel on earth would set a cancellation for the following: Guest original booking lets say 7 nights BB but they cancel on time and the cancellation fee is the first night which is BB rate. So according to Mews if we set to cancel 1 Night BB would result in 1 actual room night charge and 7 breakfast products. Now is this really normal in your view Mews? Move it to the top. I don't know who is responsible for your product design and development but ****..... never worked in hospitality for sure.
